Vehicle Detail
Awesome 2000 Honda VFR 800. The last of the gear driven cam motors before Honda changed to chain driven overhead cams. The Fuel Injection system works great. Never worry about clogged or gummed carbs or leaky fuel bowls. Altitude power loss is not a problem either. Just hop on and ride across the Rocky Mountains to California if you want to! I have Title in hand so make me a serious offer please. I prefer to make the deal and recieve payment in person, But if I must hold it for you then I will ask for a deposit. I brought it outside today; it started right up and settled into a nice burble of an idle. No effort at all to start. even though I had not ran it in an easy 4-5 months. Let it warm up and took a quick spin around the block (I still do love the sound and ride of this thing) but alas I have no time to ever use it so I must let it go to a good home. if you are unfamilliar with the Honda VFR bikes here is the wikipedia page to read all about these amazing bikes (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_VF_and_VFR) First some quick history; I bought this VFR down in Daytona Florida back in 2003. Brought it up with me when I moved up to NY in 2004. It has always been kept in a nice temp controlled garage between rides (however infrequent). As well the battery tender is connected on a regular basis to keep the battery topped up and sulfate free! I replaced the battery in 2010 (and also in 2006) as I wanted to ensure the battery was always good to go and would not damage the Regulater/Rectifier unit. The fuel is stabilized and ethanol treatment added at every fill up. As well Lucas fuel treatment added before each winter and at fill ups as well to ensure the fuel pump and injectors work flawlessly when called apon. I used to take it up to New Hampshire every year to the VFR "we don't give a hoot" rally (look it up). It always runs flawlessly and gets me there and back in comfort; while providing great excitement while up there. I love this bike and will hate to see it go, but as I have said, I ride this bike too infrequently lately and have to let her go to a good home. According to KBB as she sits she is worth $3,250 but that would be with average milage for a 12 year old bike which should be 20+ k miles by now. This VFR is WAY BELOW average milage. Only 10765 miles as of today. As well both tires were changed recently so no worries there about dry rot, bad tires or bald tires. As well as the VFR has a center stand this keeps the tires from getting flat spots from sitting (major bonus). "Stamford Motorsports" was the one to service it for oil changes and all required services during it's time with me. I had them check the thermostat and coolant; They are both still fine. I have a single seat cover (in Black though) that I got a few years ago. One of the tabs broke in shipment but that does not stop it from being used. Also I have a nice Stanlesss pipe for it as well that I wil throw in. It is the "S4" from Vance and Hines. Amazing sound!! the idle sounds like a soft rumbling V8 motor while there is a firm BARK from the pipe once you get on the throttle. Kinda sounds like this CBR600 on youtube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BwC0bvJlO6Y) but not that tinny and a bit fuller and deeper. It will slip right onto the catalytic converter and uses the stock pipe mouting bolt. Takes about 15 minutes to change pipes. I know it is in great shape, you can ride it home. Just bring your plate and your helmet (NY is a Helmet State). Then off you go, Ride it home!
