I have a 99 740il for sale. Black/Black 121,xxx miles. This is my personal car I have driven for about a year (12,000 miles) with absolutely no issues, and has been very well taken care of. Buy it before I change my mind, I keep looking at the pictures and it makes me want to keep it.
Car is mechanically 100% in perfect condition. It previously sold as a BMW certified Pre-Owned car, which means it was serviced by the dealer until 100,000 miles or a specified date. There is not a single leak, tick, knock, miss, hiccup, check engine light, nothing. This motor runs absolutely mint, with none of the typical vanos or timing chain noises associated with these particular engines. I currently am driving one of these with less miles and the motor is noisier. You are more than welcome to hear both run so you can see for yourself that this motor is in perfect condition. ABS module/ Traction control work exactly as they should, lights are not on, and do not come on from time to time like most of these.
Exterior is in nice shape, paint still shines, no clear coat issues or peeling paint. It is hard for pictures to capture imperfections, the car does have normal road wear, and a few light scratches, but nothing that really detracts from the cars overall appearance. The car has sport trim all the way around, that is why there is really no chrome on most of the car, I left some chrome on purpose. The trim around the rear quarter windows are loose, a few new clips should take care of the problem. I have also replaced the top windshield gasket, and the lower cowl cover/gasket. I have also replaced the matte/unpainted sideskirts, with painted side skirts like an 01.
Here are things that I have just replaced:
** New brakes all the way around (New OEM pads front and rear, New OEM rotors in the rear only, front had been previously replaced) This is all with OEM parts, not cheap stuff that doesn't belong on these.
** New battery a few days ago
** New front control arm bushings. Suspension does not creak or squeak. Shocks are still not completely gone, car rides smooth and takes bumps well.
** Car had previously had the entire cooling system serviced (New radiator, coolant expansion tank, fan, Hoses, water pump)
** New tires
Car will come with:
** 20" Rial Daytona wheels. Non-staggered, stepped lip. These are two piece wheels that are not made anymore. These are not cheap knockoff wheels, they are expensive and pictures don't do them justice. If you Google Rial Daytona you will see some of the outrageous prices people were trying to sell these wheels for. They come with 99% tread Dunlops 255-35-20 all the way around
** Replica Alpine front lip, painted to match. (Lip is not perfect, has some rock chips. Either way it comes with the car, bumper underneath the lip is in perfect shape, so you can take it off if you choose, no holes drilled or cracking underneath)
Interior is in nearly mint condition, very little wear on the driver's seat. Headliner, door panels, carpet, pillars, everything isn't sagging or peeling and is in great condition. Car also has heated front seats which work fantastic, rear power shade works perfectly, and door shades all work with the exception of the passenger side small quarter shade, it just recently quit retracting. Trim around the front seats is not broken or dangling. Seats all adjust properly and work 100%. Steering wheel also telescopes and moves as it should. There are a few pixels missing on the cluster but it's still readable, rest of the pixels or ok. Steering wheel controls all work and buttons aren't worn. There is no cracking in any of the leather, it's not dry or brittle. Wood trim is nice with no cracks or chips.
Everything works inside the car:
Windows all work, one of the rear passenger side window is starting to make some noise but it does still works, not sure for how long.
A/C is cold/ Heat is hot
Sunroof
Rear shades (One of the small rear quarter shades just recently quit retracting. All of the others work great, as well as the powered rear sunshade)
Heated Seats
Xenon headlights
Also the key to the car is in good shape, works perfectly, buttons are not worn out and look like new.
I have had several of these, and this is by far the most mechanically sound, best driving one I have had. Car drives straight, no shimmy, no shakes, nothing. Brakes are perfect. Believe me you do not want to buy one of these with 160 or 170,000 miles because its 3000 dollars, you will end up spending twice that fixing it. You get what you pay for with these cars. The car isn't perfect with a few very minor cosmetic things, but mechanically its perfect.
I would get in this car and drive it everywhere and I do. I know what has been replaced, and I would drive it cross country. If you want a cheap one, believe me you will get what you pay for. If you think it's worth a lot less, find a few that are cheaper, go look at them and drive them and see the difference for yourself. The car does have a Florida rebuilt title. This doesn't scare me, and it shouldn't scare you. As cars get older, especially with BMW, insurance companies total cars out with very little damage because of outrageous insurance estimates for repairs. This car had a minor collision with the drivers left fender, the fender wasn't even replaced. 5 years ago the car would still have a clear title. Florida does not issue rebuilt titles or salvage titles to cars that are a total loss, they are issued certificates of destruction. Does it matter? Look at the car, if I didn't tell you, you would probably never know.
I have the original window sticker still with the car, all the factory manuals, the trunk tool kit is complete, and it comes with a full size spare with a new tire on it. There are guys out there trying to sell 97 or 98 models or cars that are completely molested for more than what I am asking and I think they are crazy. This is the facelifted year from 99-01, with the updated M62tu motor. Don't pay this kind of money for a 95. I am a BMW enthusiast, it's all I drive. This is not my first BMW, and will not be my last.
Main Issues:
**Air bag light on - Common for this car
**Rear trim around small windows is loose
**Hood release cable is loose, still works, still latches the hood, but the release handle has to be pulled in a funny way to get it to release.
Other than that car is great.
**rear passenger side quarter shade quit retracting
I am as up front as possible about the car so there are no surprises. Other peoples cars may sound better on paper, but what did they leave out of the description. Overall the car is in good shape, and mechanically in perfect condition, there are minor imperfections but they are in line with a car this age, and in this price range.

Payment: I accept cashier's checks/money orders, bank loan check, bank transfers, cash at the time of pick-up, or a personal check once it has cleared. No matter the form of payment, a deposit is required within 24 hours of auction close.
I do not charge any additional fees or hidden charges. The price reflects only the price of the vehicle, and additional taxes may apply depending on where the vehicle will be registered. Florida residents are required to pay florida sales tax as well as any county tax if applicable.
I do my best to give you an accurate representation of the vehicle to avoid any surprises. These are used cars and I cannot list every rock chip and every minor imperfection. However I will note any damage above ordinary wear and tare. I have been a bmw enthuthiast for as long as I can remember. My goal is to find nice used bmws, and put them in the hands of anyone trying to find a good deal. For anyone that knows bmws, there are some that are complete basket cases, and obviously those are the ones both you and I should stay away from. I do my best to pass the savings on to you. Why pay more? I'm not going to claim that these are the cheapest prices in the country, or the nicest cars in the country, but I can tell you that when you see the car you will find that it was described properly, and looks and functions as described.
