AutoCheck is incorrect! Please read below, regarding the Salvage Title. You are bidding on a beautiful 1996 Porsche 993 Cabriolet. My wife purchased this car in 2000 from a dealer in our hometown. Since then we have used it for weekend getaways, trips to Razorback games, and Sunday drives. It's a wonderful car that has given us many great memories. As the photos show, this Porsche has been loved...not just owned. I'll try to describe each aspect of this vehicle in the following four categories: EXTERIOR - The paint is the original Aventurine Green Metallic, one of the rarest of the 993 colors. As the pictures indicate, it is still bright, glossy, and reflective. The body is in excellent condition, and has NO DENTS. There are minor road nicks on the front bumper, hood, and side panels, as you would expect from a 16 year old car. However, none of these minor imperfections are noticeable from 6 feet away, and do not diminish the beauty of this classic 911. The windshield and headlights are clear and perfect. The front air dam has the small scuffs and abrasions that a low sports car must endure. The convertible top is original, fully-functional, and is in fair condition. The rear plastic window is a bit hazy, but is still easy to see through and drive safely with. There is a small tear in the top below the rear window, but is not noticeable unless you are looking for it. There is a small hole in the top, adjacent to the driver-side window, that has been patched with a black rubber compound. This patch is clearly visible in the photos. The Porsche hood emblem is in fair condition, but should probably be replaced in the next year or so. The tires are BRAND NEW Goodyear Eagle F1's, and have less than 1000 miles on them. All exterior lights work perfectly. The tonneau cover was custom-made by World Upholstery. INTERIOR - The upholstery is original, except for the front seats, which are covered with custom-made seat covers by Iggee. The floor mats are also new, by Euro Motorspeed. The rear seats are original gray leather, and are in great shape. The carpet is original, and is in good condition. The only significant wear is on the shift knob and parking brake handle, typical of most 993's. The dash is still beautiful with no splits, tears, holes, or other significant imperfections. It is rare to find a 993 dash in this great condition. All gauges, dash lights, and indicator lights are fully functional. The air conditioner works well, even on 100 degree summer days. Electric door locks and window switches work well (a rare find on a 993). The stereo is an aftermarket unit, and looks great, but has never delivered great sound. The stock Porsche speakers aren't the best, and I would have replaced them long ago, but I don't turn on the radio very much. I prefer to listen to the song coming from the 3.6 liter flat 6-cylinder behind me. The tachometer looks perfect during daytime driving, but shows tiny sand-size light holes at night, due to the black paint flaking off of the back side. I do not know what has caused this, but I'm sure it's due to age. It is a minor imperfection, nonetheless. MECHANICAL - In a word...WONDERFUL. The 16 year old engine has low miles and NO PROBLEMS. It has been serviced regularly and annually inspected by a certified Porsche Master Technician. In his own words, the engine is "bone dry". No fluid leaks at all...ever. It fires up on the first crank every time, and settles into the raspy idle that air-cooled 911's are famous for. I would trust this car to take me on any trip at any time. The 6-speed manual transmission is also a perfectly-shifting bulletproof unit. We have never had any mechanical problems with this car! The clutch was replaced about 6 years ago with a SPEC Stage 3 high-performance unit. In hindsight, this was a terrible decision. My wife and I are casual drivers, not drag racers. The clutch is hair trigger, and fairly difficult to drive at first, but easy to master with practice. A lot of fun...just not easy. The power steering works great, but the power steering pump developed a faint whine about 3 years ago. We have it checked each year during the annual maintenance, and our mechanic always assures us that the pump is working properly. However, he expects that it will require replacement within the next 3 years due to old age. Otherwise, no mechanical issues. SALVAGE TITLE - AutoCheck is incorrect. This car does not have a salvage title. In 1996 (shortly after the first owner took posession), this car was in a front end collision, and the airbags deployed. No structural damage was sustained, and the car was completely repaired to its current condition. Once repaired, the car was issued a clear title. There is no evidence of this collision, in either appearance or driving behavior. This 911 has been incident-free for the past 15 years, and is pure Porsche joy to drive. AutoCheck is also incorrect about the number of owners. My wife was (and still is) the 3rd owner of this car. Any time a duplicate title is produced for a vehicle (such as when my wife changed her name when she married me), AutoCheck adds another "owner" to the car's record. AutoCheck is a ridiculously inaccurate service, and should not be trusted. It is no substitute for a personal inspection and a test drive...which I highly recommend. You will not be disappointed. I would not risk my reputation and 100% Feedback Score otherwise. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call. We can always be reached at 501-249-4443. Good Luck and Happy Bidding!!!
