Vehicle Detail
1961 Lincoln Convertible Here is your opportunity to own one of the finest vintage convertible projects I’ve ever run across. What makes this car so special is the cars integrity. So many of these old convertibles are rust buckets...not this car! The cars original paint color is Executive Gray with Red Leather seating. The body is very straight with no signs of Bondo anywhere. The original floors, quarter panels, rockers and trunk sheet metal are solid and original. (I’d be happy to shoot pictures of any specific areas requested.) The trim and bumper chrome is in good shape with just a few dings here and there. The glass is all good with no cracks in the windshield, and the grill is also in good shape. The car deserves a re-paint. The car came out of an older estate and had been in dry storage for years. I pulled and spark plugs out and poured in some Marvel Mystery oil and let it sit a few days. With a battery, some fresh fuel and clean spark plugs, the car started right up!!! It runs pretty good as is but surely could use a tune-up! The car seems totally complete except for the front seat. It was taken to an upholstery shop and then lost or stolen. But...its the same seat as in the hardtop Lincoln’s and not hard to find a replacement. The back seats are there, and that’s a good thing because I understand there special for the convertibles only. There’s a un-installed carpet kit in the car too! The car is a factory Air Conditioned car and that all seems there too. Only the drivers side power window is moving, all windows will need work. All of the Power Top components seems there, but the hydraulic rams are disconnected currently. The top cover material as been removed and will need replacing. This car does need restoration, but it’s running and is a very solid Texas car. Comes with a bill of sale and clear Texas Title. Please write or call Houston Wills at 210-548-1310 with your questions before placing your bids. Call between 9am-7pm CST only please. The car is located in San Antonio Texas.
