As most NSX owners discover, they own a great car that is under powered, I was not an exception. The NSX stock is rated at 270 HP at the flywheel (less 15-20%) that’s about 220 RWHP. If you drive a SuperCharged NSX you will not want a naturally aspirated one. I’m the second owner of this car. I purchased it in 2007 with 19,000 miles on the clock. I purchased it from the St.Louis car museum. Within a month of owning this car I sent it to Comptech USA, with the help of Doug Peterson, the owner, had them rework the heads, Install their SuperCharger, headers, airbox and ARK exhaust. We ended up with est. 420HP @ the flywheel, that’s 350 RWHP on the Dyno + 20%. This car is set up with a low boost (7lbs) pully but can go to high boost (9-11lbs) with a change of the pully and belt. I've driven the car at low boost for 20,000 miles with out a hiccup. This car is what you want out of an “exotic sport car” good lines, good performance and dependability (it’s a Honda). Check out Comptech @ http://www.comptechusa.com/history.html I owned both the NSX and a 2002 twin turbo Lotus Esprit at the same time. The lotus was quicker, faster and handled better. The down side was the shifting linkage, rear visibility and maintenance. I referred to the Lotus as a very nimble beast. The NSX is a great car in its own right, better built and more refined. With the SuperCharger it’s quick, it has much better visibility and the shifting is right on. It’s a more comfortable car and cost of ownership is much more affordable. Maintenance is next to nothing and parts are as close as your auto parts store. The radio works but the amps need work (typical of NSX). This car sounds, looks and drives great.
