Listing is for 1949 Desoto S13 Custom 4 dr. Odometer reads 17k - likely 117k. Has most of its original interior. Chrysler 236 flathead six cylinder with Fluid Drive transmission. Has new tune up with wires and coil, new battery, engine compartment and transmission re-wired. All brake shoes at 75%+, new front rubber brake hoses and front wheel cylinders rebuilt, front wheel bearings repacked. Pulls to the right a little bit - dont have to saw the wheel to keep it straight - drives well and feels solid. Brakes still need some help - requires pumping to stop - but does stop. No major brake fluid loss observed. New park brake cable installed. All interior guages work, both interior fans work, wipers and horn are working. Radio and clock inoperative. New headlight bulbs installed - 1 does not work on high beam, turn signals inop. Oil pan gasket, rear main seal (still leaks) and valve cover gaskets replaced. Appears fuel pump replaced recently. Runs well and strong, does blow some blue smoke - not a smoke screeen - but does blow a little most of the time. Runs well and stays on the 180* thermostat - idles good and doesnt overheat. I run this a couple miles to the grocery store - a very cool ride. Has good tires. Fluid drive transmission works as it should - up shifts and downshifts - newly rewired. Has coolant leak at top of radiator upper hose connection. Exterior needs some help - has good dents on left rear fender, right rear fender and roof - other misc dings also. Sat in a barn for a while under fertilizer that sifted thru rafters - ate thru most of paint. Under side of body panels in really good shape. Sold as is - where is. Buyer responsible for vehicle pick up. Vehicle is for sale locally - I reserve the right to end auction early. $500 deposit via paypal due within 24 hours of auction end.
