1954 Facel Monte Carlo for Ford France Car is a restoration project. The Ford Monte Carlo was a car built in France by Ford Motor Company's French division, Ford SAF. Only 699 Monte Carlos were produced and very few have survived. The Monte Carlo's bodywork was built by Facel, who later became the very well known luxury car maker Facel Vega. Please note on the example being auctioned here the speedometer is 200km, the ignition lock is on the dash rather than the steering column, and the dash knobs with the lettering on the bezel that names the functions of each knob, these features are only found on the rare Monte Carlo rather than the regular Comete or even early Monte Carlos. The example being offered here was produced in 1954, it needs full restoration. The car is currently fitted with what we believe to be a Corvette engine from 1955 as well as transmission, the engine number is T219GC. The rear tires are slick drag racing tires. The body is in fair condition has some dents, the interior retains the original trim . There is a ding on the right front fender. At one point somebody put some car covers on the front and rear seats, underneath the original leather is still present. I am not sure of the condition but, would have a great pattern. One of the outriggers has some rust,the bottom of the driver's side has some rust, see pictures. The original headlights are not present, the previous owner could not find the bulbs for the original Marchals, so he retro fitted the headlights to what is on the car now. Also, missing the original bumpers, do not have the original headlights either. Please look at all of the pictures, if it is not in the pictures I do not have it. I would be open to trades for: Facel Vegas cars, Facel Vega parts cars and Facel Vega parts. Car is sold "as is". Car is sold with a bill of sale. I have the title which has been signed over to me , GA will not issue a title for a car made in 1954. Please read the terms of payment listed in the auction . The engine that is currently in the car is not the correct engine, as I stated above I believe it is a 1955 Corvette engine, engine number T219GC and it does not turn over. The car originally came with a Ford V8, you can still find these engines. Please contact me with any questions you may have. .
