Vehicle Detail
Model A Hemi Coupe Featured on the cover of May 2012 Rod and Custom Magazine This traditional styled 1930 Model A Coupe debuted at the 2011 Detroit Autorama Extreme where it won Best of Show and the So-Cal Speed Shop pick award. After a year and a half of driving this car its time for me to let it go. This car is drenched in black paint, custom chrome and rich leather. Ive driven a dozen early Ford hot rods and this is by far the tightest and most fun I have ever sat in. This car is a driver that is built with all the right parts. It handles the road great, and is ready to go. Body 1930 Ford body with new subrails and patch panels. Body was chopped 6" and metal finished before bodywork and paint. The wood was replaced where needed, and a stock style long grain vinyl top was installed. Vintique 32 grill and insert. Polished out Dupont Centari single stage. The body is straight and the paint is rich and deep. Painted by Don Webster of Webs Kustom Touch Autobody. Chassis 1932 Ford frame rails from JW rod garage. Boxed and pinched in the rear. Model A crossmembers front and rear. 1.75" Tube center X-member. Frame is boxed front to back. Front axle is a chromed Chassis Engineering 4" drop forged axle located by split and chromed 39 Ford front bones. 46 Ford spindles and 40 Ford brakes. Lots of chrome. Re-worked and chromed 50 Ford F-1 shock mounts. A modified and chromed Model A headlight bar hold a set of BLC headlights. The Quickchange rear is held in place by Chrome Pete and Jakes ladder bars and a Model A spring. Dampened by a set of adjustable 46 Ford knee-action shocks rebuilt by Macs. All brake parts are new and are powered by a 57 Ford master cylinder and pedal assembly. Stock vega steering box controlled by a modified 38 Ford column, and 40 Ford deluxe wheel. Drivetrain 1956 Chrysler 354 Hemi. .030 over Full rebuild with an Isky 270-mega-hyd cam. The engine assembly was balanced. The heads and rocker assemblys were completly rebuilt. Stock oil pump rebuilt. The ignition is a late model Mopar electronic. The polished 4x2 Crager intake is topped with 4 small logo 97's that were zinc plated and completely restored. Custom built and chromed long tube headers. Full stainless dual pipes going thru stainless magnaflow mufflers. Hot heads adapter to a GM 700r-4 overdrive automatic. Rebel Wire lock-up kit. All this puts power to a new Winters V-8 Quickchange center with Ford bells, axles and brakes. A Tanks Inc. 16 gallon tank and a Carter inline pump and regulator supply the gas. Wheels/tires Stock Ford 16" wheels. 4" in front and 4.5" in the rear. Firestone bias ply 7.50x16 rears and Firestone ribbed 5.50x16 front. Interior Distressed brown leather was used to complete the tuck and roll interior that covers a stock model a seat frame and new interior panels. Pictures dont do this leather justice, it is beautiful. True tuck and roll (not top stiched) The trunk is trimmed out to match. The carpet was custom made and bound in the same leather as the interior. The headliner and windlace are leather as well. Full dynamat covered interior. A steel 32 Ford dash holds a full set of SW wing gauges. Tranny is shifted by tall Lokar swan neck shifter. 34 Ford spoon gas pedal. The style of this Coupe is timeless, and the build quality is top knotch. The bugs are worked out of it, and its ready for a new owner. Seroius buyer are encuoraged to call with questions. Rob 920-819-8086. I can answer any of your question by phone or email. The only problem I want to note is the odometer keeps turning over whenever the key is on. It is wired correctly and SW says a new gauge will fix it. The speedo is calibrated and works fine. Keep in mind its not a new car, it is a collection of restored old parts, and it handles like a buggy sprung early Ford hot rod. This is a bare bones build. No blinkers, parking brake, flashers, seat belts, neutral safety switchor horn. You can add whatever you want once its yours. Its not a detailed out trailer queen, I drive this car and it shows. Please understand what you are bidding on, and call with questions. I want the new owner to walk away pleased. $1000 deposit due within 24 hours of auction close. The rest is dues within 7 days via bank check, wire transfer, or my prefered way....C.O.D. (cash on the dash). This car is sold as is. I will consider personally delivering this car in enclosed trailer for a fee within 750 miles. Anyone with zero feedback will have their bids deleted if they do not call me first. I reserve the right to end this auction at anytime. Serious buyers feel free to call me anytime. International bidders please contact before bidding.
