Vehicle Detail

This is an immaculate 1998 Mercedes Benz c280 sedan. This car is silver with a beige leather interior. This car is truly a time capsule it only has 59,985 miles! It was driven an average of 4200 Miles per year!!!!. This is a ONE owner car with NO accidents or paintwork. Here’s the story with this car: I am a small used car wholesaler located in New Jersey. Generally speaking 90% of my business is done at the dealer auctions, I get a lot of trades from various new car dealers, and run them through the dealer auctions. I deal with 5-10 cars a week, and generally don’t give them a second look. Then this car came along. It was immaculate inside, had extremely low miles, and was just cosmetically almost perfect. So I decided to take it home and drive it for a day or two. That’s when this saga started. As I was driving home, the car locked up the front brake caliper. I called a flatbed, and took it to my mechanic’s shop. We realized that after the car cooled down, the brake unlocked, which led me to believe the car had a sticky caliper, or an air pocket in the line. Well, we ended up going through the entire braking system. Over $1600 worth of work was put into the brakes alone. The work done was the following (I have documentation of all of this). New front brake calipers New front brake pads New front brake lines New ABS Pump New Master Cylinder The rear brakes were in good condition and the pads had over 60% of their life left, so we left them alone. After we got the braking system sorted, I took the car and drove it for a day or two, and something just didn’t feel right. It drove ok, but it just didn’t have the power I felt it should. So I filled the tank thinking the fuel may have been old, and then the magic “check engine “ light appeared. So back to my mechanic it went, and the car ended up getting a new Mass air flow sensor. $450. I have driven the car approximately 700 miles since then, and have had absolutely NO issues with it. THAT’s how much I liked this car. After I picked the car up, it was a totally different car. Strong, powerful, smooth. This car literally drives like a brand new car now and needs absolutely NOTHING. Everything works. Heat is hot, A/C is cold, it runs and drives perfectly smoothly and straight. It stops great, after all the brakes are all new! The transmission shifts smoothly. The car rides on a matched set of Michelin tires with good tread. The car was just pefect. All of the power options work. All the windows work, glass sunroof works perfectly. Dual power seats work. The car has NO mechanical or electric flaws to speak of. The Premium Bose stereo works well, sounds good, and has an alpine 6 disc changer in the trunk. Even the phone turns on but I don’t think these phones are useable anymore. The car has a $2000 hidden K40 radar detector system installed. Cosmetically you have to see the car to believe it. You would think we were in the year 2000. There is almost NO wear in this car’s interior. Beige leather doesn’t have a scratch in it. The carpets are pefectly clean, and it comes with the original mercedes benz floor mats which are also as clean. The only interior flaw is a very small – less than an inch crack on the speaker grille on the driver’s door. The exterior is also near flawless with one exception. The bumpers. – More on that in a second. The car has absolutely NO rust, has one door ding in the driver’s door, and a slight ding in the trunk to the upper left of the license plate. Now onto the bumpers. Whoever the previous owner was should be banned from the touch up paint section of the auto parts store. Litterally every time they got a knick in the bumpers, they went out and slathered it in touch up paint. Personally I think it makes it look worse than having the knicks alone. I have taken detailed pictures of the bumpers so you understand. Honestly, I would encourage the new owner to get the bumpers repainted. It would cost me about $400 to get both bumpers done, but I didn’t want to paint them because I wanted the paint to be all original. Now onto the legal stuff. Since this car is being sold wholesale it is completely AS IS. You are responsible for dertermining condition before you purchase the car. I am a licensed and bonded NJ used car dealer. If you are an NJ resident, you MUST pay me the 7% sales tax, which you will receive credit for at DMV when you go to register the car. IF you are an out of state resident no sales tax is due to me, and you will pay whatever taxes are due in your home state. I ship cars as a matter of routine and work with a number of shipping companies and can get you wholesale rates however any shipping costs are strictly the responsibility of the buyer. There is a $95 doc fee on all sales which covers the costs of paperwork. I can issue a 30 day temporary registration for $50 which is valid in all states, however I need proof of your drivers license and insurance before I can issue that. I require a paypal deposit of $500 within 24 hours of the auction close unless we have discussed alternate arrangements. I am a wholesaler and ship vehicles as a matter of routine. I can arrange shipping anywhere in the US or Canada (including customs clearance). I deal with the best transport companies and can get wholesale rates. While I am glad to assist in this, all shipping costs, and final arrangements are the responsiblity of the purchaser. The car is being sold as is, where is. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to call or text me at 609 789 8557. Please ask all questions before bidding. If you are the high bidder, you own the car. I will let the detailed pictures of the car speak for themselves.
