This is a rare opportunity to own an incredibly special car with a fantastic history for a fraction of the price. This car was an unrestored concours original 1978 930 with only 4,500 miles in a storage facility in Nevada up until 7 years ago when an accomplished fabricator who had worked with Dan Gurney got hold of the car. This 930 was then transformed into a tribute to ‘70s Porsche racecar icons . There are many unusual details on this turbo that are done with the highest level of quality.
Originally, this 930 was delivered in Cashmere Beige. We had it in a “pink-pig” style livery to soften the blow of such a strange color. However, after many years, we had to do a change. So, we had the car stripped down to the bare metal and repainted factory Leaf Green. As some of you know, this color and code is no longer available and very tough to match. So, we got the help of the best…John Wilhoit of 356 fame. John was able to provide us with a perfect paint sample match. (note: John did not paint the car). The only part of the car that has the original Cashmere Beige is the frame rails of the engine compartment. We thought we should show what it once was.
Furthermore, the car just went through a complete service by the father and son team of Tony and Marco at TLG Auto (www.TLGAuto.com). They are very familiar with the current condition of the car and can give anyone an honest opinion of how nice this car really is.
Here is TLG’s opinion on the car after recent service:
I have quite a bit of personal experience with Paul's car - both from the driver's seat as well as under the hood.
First and foremost, the workmanship on the car is pretty f-in fantastic; it's got old-school Andial written all over the engine compartment. The time I spent in the engine compartment was for routine service work; aside from needing a tune-up the worst thing I found was a couple of hose clamps facing the wrong direction. It has been my experience that Turbo cars (in particular hot rod turbo cars) are usually pretty bastardized and tend to suffer from being put together in a ham-fisted manner with no attention to detail or ease of maintenance ... THIS IS NOT THE CASE WITH THIS CAR. Everything with this car was as it should be - clean, neat and servicable - and it was A PLEASURE TO WORK ON.
The view from the driver's seat tells the other side of the story - the car handles like no other 930 I've driven ... by that I mean that it's on rails. The suspension is very well set up and there's so much tire (read: grip) that the car goes around corners like something half its size. Once you get used to how the car makes boost it's so easy to drive fast that it's almost like cheating. My only complaint is that the car is limited to .5 bar of boost; that's like showing me a 16oz filet and then serving up a McDonalds burger ... just plain mean. If this thing were allowed a full 1.0 bar (or even the factory .8 bar) it would be BLINDINGLY fast ... as it sits it's merely blisteringly quick. In its current state of tune this running gear will outlast the Sun ... it's totally unstressed, very powerful and stone reliable.
Here's the bottom line:
This is a SERIOUS turbo car that's VERY WELL BUILT and has ALL THE GOODIES. The current price is a HUGE DISCOUNT ... you couldn't build this car with these parts for anything near the asking price.
Personally, I think Paul's an idiot for wanting to sell the car ... but who am I to pass judgment?

After this comment, we took the car back to TLG and had them add a .8 bar boost spring. He said that the car was insane fast…what it should be. Also, he estimates the horsepower to be closer to 420. 420hp in a 2,500lb car = 5.9lbs/hp. This is better hp/weight ratio than the 997 GT2!
All in all, this car has appeared in over a dozen magazines as well as several TV shows.
