Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE This 1963 Buick Riviera was built “expressly for” the Blakely family. The badge on the center counsel is still there since the car was ordered at the dealer with the requested options. Riviera’s were one of the best optioned cars of the time, and this one has quite a few of them. Power steering, brakes, windows and driver seat along with tilt column and factory installed a/c. The interior is complete and most of it was redone by the previous owner. The 4 factory bucket seats have been reupholstered in a navy blue and white vinyl, the door cards were done to match and the headliner was done in white with a little texture. The carpet was also redone, in black; however I would prefer to have it redone in matching navy blue like the speaker tray and door card bottoms. The dash top is also wrapped in the matching navy blue vinyl and dash bottom along with center counsel is matched in navy blue. Most of the electronics are in working order; however the gauges do not light up. The speedometer and gas gauge are not reading either. The a/c does blow and the 4 windows all work from driver door and respective switches. Outside, the car was painted by a previous owner. I buffed out the paint which brought it back to life, however it is a driver quality paint job and not a show car. The car turns lots of heads as is but in my opinion would merit a new paint job down the line. The front bumper is coated in silver spray paint to protect it. All the stainless and trim is on the car and in good shape. I will mention that the rear license plate guard is rusted at the bottom and the taillight bezels have the typical pitting on the bottom sill. Overall the car is very presentable and very attractive. I have received many compliments in it. The wheels and tires are brand new. They might have 40 miles on them. 15” keystone klassic reproduction wheels by 7” wide are wrapped in new Firestone tires 205/70R15 with thin whitewalls. The wheels and stance give this car a very early lowrider attitude. It’s lowered 4” at the rear and 1.5” up front, the suspension travel is great even with 4 people in the car it rides like factory. I have replaced the lower ball joints and aligned the front end immediately after installing the wheels and tires. The car has also been taken to my local brake shop for an inspection and to have the system bleed. The power brakes stop this car on a dime and straight. This car may look low and slow, but the factory 401 motor really moves this car. It currently has dual straight pipes, along with the car come 2 like new cherry bombs that I have not gotten around to installing. I have driven this car down the highway over 80 mph, no hesitation, no shakes, and no noises other than the exhaust. The carburetor is very responsive and the transmission shifts fine. I have replaced the fuel pump a month ago with a new unit. The starter has also been rebuilt. There are also no leaks to report off. It is has a clean Kansas title, furthermore, it comes with matching California black plates. We put this car on the lift and found that a previous owner began the job, and almost finished it, of cleaning and painting the undercarriage. Most of the components like control arms and differential are all painted gloss black. The rockers are solid and dry, there are only 2 small rust areas under each back seat bucket, they are easily accessible and not complicated to fix. The trunk floor has 0 rust and is very solid. I am only selling the car because I "need" a shop truck (looking for 36 Ford Truck), I have too many other cars and while I would love to keep this one it is not what I need at the moment. So if you are looking for a clean solid Riviera that you can fix up while you enjoy driving it, this is the one! You can take it step by step, overhaul the whole thing, or leave it as is and enjoy the ride. Either way this Riviera is fun to drive, looks great and you can start enjoying it right way! Thank you!Yaril i am relisting this car for the 2nd time due to high bidder on my last listing having bid on the wrong car. please make sure you can afford the bid you place and it is the car you want! i do not want to waste anytime with tire kickers, i am looking to sell this car quickly, the reserve is low. its a great car for the price! if you have any questions at all or would like additional pictures / info contact me directly at 305.302.5693 or kustom51@comcast.netOn Mar-05-12 at 20:35:57 PST, seller added the following information: i am very motivated to sell, i have lowered the buy it now price substantially.
