Vehicle Detail
Thanks for checking out my Spitfire!Last year I survived a near death experience, so I decided that I should go out and purchase everything I have always wanted. A Spitfire was one of them. I had fun this last summer, but this car is not practical for me. The legroom is just short enough to make it an uncomfortable ride for my height. I've driven it about 200 miles since I purchased it 9 months ago. What you should know:Garaged kept, and covered. Runs great - I have all receipts and can scan them if you wish. Repaired radiator - flow repair, repaired seam leak and cut out bad tube - painted the radiatorNEW (and repaired)Idle JetEngine MountsDoor to Windshield sealOil Pan GasketGearshift BootRear Stop and Tail LightsGasketFront amber turn lampDoor Mirrorswindshield finisherreplaced the buttons in the leaf spring. purchased parts from SpitBits.com - a friend of mine who works on british cars made all the repairs. Leaks a little bit of oil due to the fact that there is a carburetor on this car that is not original. I'm told it can be reverted to the original for less than $200 through a mechanic. Rust on the trunk lid - however, I purchased another trunk lid that is in great condition - just needs to be sanded down and replaced. Trunk lid is included in the sale.Paint is cracking in areas, and it's not the original paint. I had dreams of sanding this bad boy down and giving it a new paint job, but I've decided to allow you the pleasure. Interior is fine. Seats are great. Simply needs a little bit of modesty work, and it will sparkle. I have the frame for the soft top - just needs the materialI have a hard top. Ok condition. It fits fine. Some cracks in the rear window (plastic)Aftermarket rollbar installed. The 5508 mileage is what is on the odometer. I am not sure of the actual mileageThe tires are new, but they are a little too big for the car - on turns and bumps, they rub agains the front fender a bit. nothing that smaller tires and original wheels will not fix… I don't know much about cars, so I am setting the reserve at exactly what I paid for it. From my research, I am asking a fair price.
