DESCRIPTION AND OTHER INFORMATION 1960 Mercedes Benz 190D Ponton A Grand Classic in Extraordinary Condition This motorcar was from a time when Mercedes Benz’s were built by hand by the best Master German Craftsmen. In my opinion, after 30 years of selling Mercedes Benzes throughout the world, this is, without a question, a moving work of art. It has been extremely well maintained both mechanically and cosmetically. The body is particularly sound. The odometer reads 20,326 miles which we assume means that it has been driven less that 2,405 miles per year for a total of 120,326 miles but it looks like a 10,000 mile masterpiece. There were very few of the Ponton with the high grille made and that makes this a very rare specimen indeed. When you think about the 220S Ponton going for well over $15,000.00 today it makes you realize that this exceptional example will not be far behind in escalating value. It is finished in a German Blue with an impeccable Green interior, highlighted with beautifully kept walnut woodwork . It is fitted with the Mercedes 1.9L straight 4 cylinder diesel engine which affords one excellent handling and driving pleasure. It is fully 4 on the tree manual trans; four wheel drum brakes, and tight handling suspension. I am immensely proud of this moving work of art and I truly believe you will never find another in this pristine condition at this price. Everywhere I go, I get outstanding compliments.
