Vehicle Detail
100% complete late model Big Healey. Needs complete restoration. Last running and on the road 1999. Engine turns and transmission moves through gears freely...has overdrive. Sheet metal has rust in lower areas but all panels can be repaired with patch panels. Frame is solid except fort left main rail which will need complete replacement as part of restoration process. Seat pans very rusty but seat forms good. All glass is good and most chrome is serviceable except grill surround, bumpers, and misc. other pieces. Car has never been restored but there are several areas on frame that have been patched over the years as well as numerous homeowner type attempts at bodywork. Bought from estate of long time owner. LOW RESERVEOn Feb-07-12 at 19:10:59 PST, seller added the following information: I cut out left and right floor pans which were rusty to expose frame rails. I will upload additional photo(s) of frame as requested. On Feb-08-12 at 15:03:09 PST, seller added the following information: Additional information: 1.Car has a clear title and is titled in my name in the state of Virginia. 2. For overseas buyers, I will deliver car to either Baltimore or New York depending on from which port car is to be shipped. I am close to both cities and will do so for fuel cost only. On Feb-08-12 at 17:33:34 PST, seller added the following information: Additional information.New replacement rail for left side available in 2 pieces from Moss Motors in Ca. Part #'s867-895856-815Replacement will require experienced restorer or welder but once completed, restoration should be straightforward.I have another Healey that I started on earlier and is requiring more money and time to complete so this one is being sold to free up resources. On Feb-09-12 at 03:46:45 PST, seller added the following information: This car has been listed twice recently. The first time several weeks ago a gentleman made an offer just below the reserve and I sold it to him using "buy it now" feature. He lived in Virginia as I do and when he learned I had a clear title but that it was still in the name of the person I bought it from out of state, he was not comfortable with that. He wanted me to title it in my name prior to closing. He also wanted me to deliver it to him 4 hours away prior to paying for it. I was not comfortable with his demands so we never completed the deal. He lived in Roanoke Va. and never saw the car in person. I have since titled the car in my name in the State of Virginia to avoid any issues with future buyers. The second time it was listed a couple weeks ago, the auction price got to just below reserve so there was no sale. This is the first car I have sold on eBay and I am selling it because I have another Healey that is well underway in the restoration process and is requiring more time and money to complete than originally anticipated. Thanks for your interest.
