Vehicle Detail

Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Up for sale is our 1973, 240Z. Fully restored and ready to drive home. The drive train is a 2.8L original 1978 280Z 5 speed, front to back. The 2.8L motor has been carefully rebuilt and since the Nissan engines are so well made the cylinders only needed honing and new rings. Hardened valve seats for today’s fuels have been installed, all new Nissan bearings and bushings, and a complete gasket kit. The six into one header lets the exhaust flow evenly into the all stainless 2.25” piping back to the low rumble of the muffler. The 5 speed transmission shifts well through all gears and allows the lighter 240Z to get up a go. We have fixed the top end with a pair of 1972 SU’s that are completely rebuilt and tuned correctly. The car only needs to be choked once at first start in the morning and will run all day after. We have put maybe 600 miles on the rebuilt motor. No leaks. There is no rust on this car. The interior has been completely redone. There are no cracks in the dash which has been restored. The choke cables work correctly and every time. We replaced the 1980’s version radio with an Alpine head unit that fits into the existing hole with no modifications. We replaced the two tool storage doors that are behind the seats with MDF panels cut for the Polk Audio speakers and the sound is very good. The original tool storage doors go with the car and the mounting for them remains undamaged. The electric antennae works. All the plastic panels and trim pieces are crack free and look good. The car has all new weather strips and the cowl drains (missing on so many of these cars) are present and A1. The wheels are a set of Konig spoke aluminum with new rubber. The exterior color is the correct silver for this car which started life as a silver car (when we received it was faded red). All electrics work correctly. The steering rack has been replaced with freshly rebuilt one. It is manual steering but the new rack makes it relatively light. The power brakes work great with all new rotors, pads, shoes, drums, pipes and hoses. The engine is fed with a top of the line electric fuel pump with a regulator and a gauge to keep it at the 5 PSI the carbs need. The gas tank has all new vent hoses so no smell of fuel anywhere. We even replaced the spill deflector at the gas cap. No A/C but the windows work great! The car has new seat belts for safety. If you have questions drop us a note. Happy bidding! We require a deposit via PayPal with 48 hours of auction end. The balance in Cashiers check or cash. Buyer is responsible for pick-up and shipping. The car is sold as is with a clean Georgia title On Jan-31-12 at 18:20:30 PST, seller added the following information: if anyone wants more pictures please let us know what you want to see and we'll either send them or post them. No holes, no leaks and not full of Bondo. We cut the rust out and weld metal in. Whoever buys this car gets a thumb-drive full of the restoration pictures and our work up spreadsheet showing everything that has been done to this car. And everything has been done to this car. On Feb-05-12 at 05:33:49 PST, seller added the following information: We have lowered the reserve on this excellent Z. This car needs to be driven and enjoyed not sitting around our shop under cover. The bids are getting very close.
