Vehicle Detail

Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE 1980 Land Rover Series III, 109" Right hand drive Front and rear heavy duty axles 3-door Have original sideways bench seating for rear of vehicle. Have original front seats for vehicle. Frame up restoration began, but was never completed. I do not have the resources to complete this project. Perfect for someone who can do the work; most new/replacement parts already purchased. The following are parts I have purchased new, in some cases installed and a short list of what it needs: Axles, Suspension and Steering (these things are all installed) Front and rear axles were rebuilt: Axle case oil seals New retainer rings and seals Front half shaft bearings Re-chromed swivel balls U-joint (not installed) Replacement swivel pin kit: Kit to rebuild one swivel housing. Contains top pin, bush and thrust washer, bottom bearing, swivel seal, gasket to axle tube, 'O' ring for bottom pin, 4x lock tabs and 7x assorted shims. Swivel bearings Railko bush New o-rings and lockers All new axle gaskets Hub oil seals New key washers, lock nuts New split pins New dust caps All new lug nuts All new bump stops Steering wheel cover Rebuilt steering box, new bearings Steering damper New steering column pad and clamp New drag link rod Track rod Steering rod and all new ball joints Brakes and Brake Controls (all things are installed unless noted) Brake servo repair kit All new wheel cylinders and bleeders New brake shoes and locker plates 1 or 2 new drums, others were cut down. 1 is at it's greatest cut-down size and will need to be replaced once it glazes. Brake retraction springs Brake pedal return spring I believe I bought a new Lucas brake light switch All brake back plates were cleaned and treated with a chassis saver New dust cover for hand brake Fuel and Exhaust (these things have not yet been installed) Gas tank elbow Breather to elbow tube Hose to Air cleaner Fuel tank sender locking ring and gasket Fuel tank sender unit for petrol, not diesel New fuel cap Fuel filler hose Cooling and Heating (these things have not yet been installed) Air vent delivery hose Heater hose kit New duct vents Demister vents Heater cone seal Electrical, Washers-Wipers and Instruments (not installed) New horn (louder, lower tone version of the two offered) New wipers and wiper arms New 7-pin towing plug All new lights: running lamps, brake lamps, turn signal lamps, interior dome lamp, flasher lamps, license plate lamp, Chassis, Subframe, Bodyshell, Fittings (not installed) New lower and upper side doors Quick release bolt system to pull top window part off door for "open air" driving Chassis was welded to correct any rust spots. Chassis was treated with Chassis Saver New door sills (exterior trim below doors) Rubber buffers for bonnet All new rubber seals for entire truck Canvas stripping for bonnet rest w/new clips Headlamp bowl kits, rings and retainer rims Several fixing plates (nuts welded onto plates) New barrel and keys for all 3 doors Several retainer nuts (bolts welded onto plates) New door hinges (installed) Additional 3rd rear door hinge. 3rd door is not installed and not in the best of shape. Has bondo, but either needs to be replaced or a diamond steel plate attached to cover lumpiness. New door hinge bolts Door mounted review mirrors and arms Front fender mounted review mirrors and arms Window locks New door stays New window channel kits New foot well and mud shields (already brazed/welded in) New spire nuts, locknuts Almost all new rivets on body of truck Facia, Trim, Seats and Fixings (not installed) Interior review mirror pulled out of new Range Rover with auto-dim and outside temp gauge. Wiring attached. 2 visors pulled from newer Range Rover with lighted mirrors. Wiring attached. Several rubber blanking plugs and grommets All new labels; heater, wiper wash, lights, panel light, wiper All new pedal pads New gear knob, 4WD knob, original Fairey overdrive leather-wrapped knob! VERY cool! Transmission shift level boot Transfer level boot Hand brake cover New set of rubber floor mats for Series III Exterior red gas can All body pieces were undercoated, primed and painted. 2 coats self-etching primer, 3 coats paint, 2 coats clear. New grill (existing is still in good shape) Full length safari rack. Welded any weak spots and treated with aluminum Chassis Saver 10g wire pulled through chassis on both sides of vehicle. I believe each side has a bundle of 10-12 wires, each marked for identification. Rear (black) handle/pulls which mount on or above bumper New OMZ racing seats -- black. Need 4-point seat belts Engine Have original 2.25l Leyland Motors diesel motor but it has a cracked head. Vehicle was converted to a brand new Chevy small block 350. Engine is mounted with additional required bushing fabricated and installed in order to line up to existing drivetrain. Vehicle is right hand drive. Body work on truck is pretty good, but not perfect. Side doors are new, so no work on those. New paint job, which is also of good quality. I was told the following parts are somewhere in boxes, but this mechanical part of the project was not my area of expertise so I'm uncertain what some of the parts even look like: alternator, starter, carburetor, air cleaner, . . ...can't think of what else. What I know it still needs: Muffler/exhaust Brake lines Wiring harness, or utilize the wiring in place and install your own relays/switches 1 piece of glass has broken (I believe it is one of the front windshield pieces. Can be replaced easily, I'm told) Tires (rubber -- rims were all cleaned, primed and painted to match truck color) Roof is primed but not painted. The roof on these vehicles are generally painted a lighter color. Never got that far. 2 front locking hubs Emergency brake drum and shoes were not changed out. They may or may not be good. 4-point seat belts And, of course, the entire thing needs to be reassembled. I have a repair manual specific to this model along with restoration guides. Needs a radiator Have over $15,000 invested in this project. Will accept $5000.00 or b.o. SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY! I have attached pictures showing the color of the vehicle and to show that the vehicle is in parts right now. Bulkhead and bed are the only thing (besides engine) that are on the truck right now. I have also attached a picture of what the truck looked like before restoration began. Will need to have truck flat-bedded and parts individually loaded and moved.
