Vehicle Detail
Here we have a very nice looking clean 1962 "daily driver" Bug. This car has a resent restoration and has been driven daily for the last 8 months. It has been VERY reliable during that time and never let me down. I bought this car as a father son project, but my son just never got interested. I got it back on the road running and looking good after many many years of sitting neglected. I don't know it's history before I got it, but do think the mileage is accurate due to old maintenance receipts that were in the car when I bought it. It still has it's original engine and it's original 6 volt electrical system. This nice little bug is not a show car. It is a daily driver. It has all original paint inside with one outer repaint in it's original color...that matches very well. It has had a lot of work done to bring it back to its current condition. Everything works...even the radio...(oh, the horn stopped working a few weeks ago, but everything else works). There is really too much to list, but in the last year it has had all new tires, the rims and seat frames have been sandblasted and powder coated and look very nice. The brakes have had all new hard and soft brake lines replaced, with all new break shoes and new break drums in the rear. The interior is all new but meant to have a classic original look. All new rubber throughout the car...and all new bulbs too. The rear bumper blade is a wolfsberg west replacement and has very nice chrome. This car has never been off it's original pan, but has had both rear pan sections replaced due to some rust (in the battery section), This car looks amazing for being 50 years old. It is very fun to drive and gets a lot of attention where ever I go. I will miss the thumbs up and waves from everyone. This car is available for inspection and test drives if you are local. All shipping costs are the buyers responsibility, but I am happy to assist in the shipping process however I can. My house is very accessible so a car transporter wouldn't have any trouble. I have a clean UT title in my name. I will require a $500 dollar deposit within 48 of the end of the auction and will require the rest of the payment within 7 days. We can work out the transportation details at the auctions end, but I would like the transport arrangements completed within 2 weeks. Please take a close look at the pictures. This car is not perfect, but it is a nice car. I'll answer any questions the best I can. Bid with confidence, I'm sure this little bug will put a smile on your face! On Jan-31-12 at 07:47:34 PST, seller added the following information: I've added some more pictures. A lot of people are emailing wanting to see pictures of the underside and "any uglier areas" of the car. In an effort to help everyone "see" the true condition of this car, I went out this morning and crawled around taking a few more pictures. I hope they help. On a side note, a local ebayer came by last night to take a look at the car in person. He took it for a test drive and looked at it fairly closely and returned saying he thought it seemed like a good deal and that my reserve price seemed very fair...that made me feel better, and I just thought I'd pass that along. Thanks for all the interest and questions. Keep them coming! ...and good luck!
