Vehicle Detail

Rare 1969 Cougar XR7 Convertible Cobra Jet car. This is the rarest of the Cougars. It is as rare as the rarest Mustang. Only 46 1969 Cougar Q code built and only 39 were automatic This car is 1 of a kind. 428 Cobra Jet, 3.50 posi, Tilt away steering works, rim blow horn that works, power steering and brakes and AM/FM radio that works. You will never get the chance to buy one like this other than now. I have a reasonable reserve. and only 1 was Maroon , THIS IS THAT COUGAR !. This car runs and drives. Numbers matching 428 cj engine 428 cobra jet. Shows only 65000 miles and was told apears to be actual. Interior in good condition with a couple spots on driver seat needing repaired (see pic). I am going to describe the best I can. Some say I am to hard on describing my cars but I want everyone to know what I have. Pull straps on doors are in trunk?. Carburetor is a 9510-U 735 CFM Holley replacement. The car will need front floor pans and passenger side torque box for sure. The lower quaters have been repaired at some point and should be replaced on restoration. I was able to verify the numbers on engine with a mirror and it is correct. I dont have a lift so I didnt check any others. the transmission is a cast iron tail shaft CJ so I would be shocked if it was not original also. Top looks good and works like it should. headlight covers bleed off when setting. I saw a spot on corner of door bottom that will need to be rapiared and I took pics of aprons under hood they have small spots. Smog is gone and so is the kick down rod and clock doesnt work. Original AM/FM radio works. Driverside door window has came unglued, typical 69 flaw I am only going to list this car once. If it doesnt sell I will restore and then sell. Buyer to arrange and pay for all shipping cost. On Jan-17-12 at 11:58:03 PST, seller added the following information: Dash has no cracks. On Jan-18-12 at 14:16:29 PST, seller added the following information: OK I have had a lot of interest in this car. I added a pic of the trunk. This Cougar has been in storage for 20 plus years and only started every few months and driven very very little. You will NOT have to rebuild engine as it runs with NO knocks, noise, or smoke. It drives and shifts just like it was meant to do. Purr like a kitten. Again it is a 1 of 1 no other Cougar in existance like it. Compare to the rare Boss 429 Mustang in 69 they built 850 Boss cars in 69 they built 46 of these Q code Cougar's!On Jan-20-12 at 15:08:21 PST, seller added the following information: I drove the car up on ramps and took pics of the 2 areas of rust. the rest of the undercarraige appears to be solid. I am limited to the number od pics But if you have any request I will gladly try to get you any additional pics your want. I dont have a lift so I cant get the whole under carraige at once.On Jan-20-12 at 18:25:16 PST, seller added the following information: Reserve is $20850
