1968 Galaxie XL 500 FastbackLow RESERVE - dont miss this one ! nicely optioned: 390 Big Block / PS / PDB Motor runs and sounds good for 100k on it.I do hear a lifter tap when it cold.Brakes are good and work well.Front suspension is pretty old and will need some attention soon. Interior: console w/ buckets / 8 track and more ! 103k original miles / Box A Arizona title confirms it. A nice Unmolested example of a stock Galaxie 500 XL Starts up with several pumps of the throttle, it may need a choke adjustment and tune up soon. Has been a daily driver up to about a yr ago.Needs tires. Has the factory style Mag wheel covers with correct long factory lug nuts. Exterior factory white color has had some paint work here n there but you could prob buff out whats left and it would still be acceptable at the local cruise nites ! 60s style Turquoise Interior in okay shape, but could use some work to be a Nicer driver. I think the 8 Track works just the speakers are all dry rot and gone. Floor shifter is a nice option along with the factory tinted windows. Center console needs some work as does the shifter hoop. Cars been in AZ its whole life as far as we can track but the car got very mild rust in a few corners and lower trunk pan. Floors , frame, torque boxes are amazingly clean. 1 thing you wont hear us say in our ads is "rust in the usual places" This is prob one of the most rust free XLs left and would be an easy restoration. Hide-A-Way Headlights still look and work great ! Trunklid has been changed at some time but damage to the rear not that bad. Check out the pics. RESTORED BACK TO STOCK , IT WILL ONLY GO UP IN VALUE AS WE ALL KNOW Obviously its had some paint work done over the yrs, still to the factory color. Bid it to win it ! dont regret you didnt later ! If you can find a more rust free unmolested 68 XL500 out there for better money, by all means go buy it. If you can find one as well represented as our Galaxie , by all means, buy it. But if you buy another one, we wish you the best. Hardly driven much in the last 15 yrs. Smokes very little upon start up, not sure if its valve seals or carb. Maybe if its driven more often it will go away. Most of the important trim and components all there making the restoration more Original and easier. These cars overflo the Art Deco look of the 60s. Obviously this is not a restored car. Most of these cars were run into the ground and really USED up as you might expect them to be. The cars body and chassis are very clean and mild rust. They are only original ONCE and this car is VERY UNMOLESTED !! Anyone can throw shiney paint and a bunch of off the shelf aftermarket parts on a car and say its "restored" But the value for your $ doesnt make worth buying. 68 Galaxie Fastbacks restored back to the way they came off the showroom have excellent values.
