1972 Ford F-250 Highboy 4x4. 5442 Actual Miles. This truck was purchased new October 18, 1971 by the West Salem Illinois Rural Fire Protection District, at Lear Ford in West Salem. Power comes from a 360 CI V-8 2BBL 4 Speed manual transmission and a model 24 transfer case. This truck has always been equipped as a Brush Truck. It has a PTO driven pump and carries 250 gallons of water. When truck was new, Ford Wheel and Hub kit adapters were installed on rear to accommodate the Dual rear wheels. Rear fenders were also a Ford kit conversion with bedsides being cut and steel fender extensions welded in place. Lower bedsides were refinished and painted at this time. The fire apparatus can all be removed from the bed along with the pump and rear bumper. This truck has been stored inside and was still in service until September of 2011. This unit is still being housed inside and is wearing its work clothes. Truck has not been detailed and is fresh out of service. Truck still carries the original title and comes with all factory paperwork including Build Sheet. Truck has always been serviced and maintained on a regular basis.
