100% complete Austin Healey 3000 BJ8. Needs total restoration. Last registered 1999. Body OK, has rust in bottom of all panels including doors but all repairable with patch panels. Left main frame rail needs replacement but other than outriggers, fairly solid. Top in good shape, engine complete and unmolested, interior as expected in a car this age. As I said in the original description, the drivers side rail will need to be replaced... I want to make sure this is clear. Note that the drivers seat, carpet, and floor pan has been removed to provide a view of the top of the left main rail. To clarify, the left main rail from behind the drivers seat to around the pedal cluster should be replaced/sectioned. Also, the question of whether or not the car runs has come up. It was last registered in 1999 and though engine turns freely, I have no attempted to get it running. Hope this helps. Any distance beyond 600 miles, buyer will have to arrange shipping but I will assist with loading etc.On Jan-16-12 at 10:41:48 PST, seller added the following information: FYI,Received an E-Mail from an interested buyer who informed me that a manufactured replacement rail is not available for late model BJ8's. I spoke with Moss Motors and learned that front and rear sections are available by special order but a one piece rail is not. Bottom line, complete replacement can be done without fabrication. Also have had questions about why rust is concentrated in one area. Can only theorize that car was left outside for a period of time with the drivers window down. Another question was raised about seats and condition. Seat frames are in decent shape and usable but seat pans and not.Fran
