Vehicle Detail
1975 CB 500T. This bike has had a frame up rebuild. I purchased the bike 2 years ago and tore it down to the frame. The bike has been converted over to a cafe but most of the parts on the bike are stock. There was no rust in the original tank so I reused the tank minus the original Honda emblems. I had those filled and the tank and seat were professionally custom painted by Jims Lettering in Franlinville NJ. The only decals on the bike are the Honda wings and the sinature on the seat pan. These were done by F&W Grafix in Monroeville NJ. The seat pan is from Omars DTR as well as the adjustable clubman handlebars. The clutch lever also came from Omars. The front brake master cylinder is brand new from a KTM. The front brakelines are Braided SS. The front brake caliper was completely rebuilt, as well as new brake pads. The electric controls are off of a 2007 CBR 600RR. The throttle control is new from Motion Pro. The wheels are stock. They were sandblasted and painted. The rear brake drum was in good shape so I roughed up the drum and installed new brake shoes. The rear sets are from Loaded Gun and the linkage was custom fitted by me. I installed a seat pan to house all the electronics under the seat and cut and fabricated my seat loop. The battery is housed under the rear seat hump. This is a brand new gel battery. The brake lights are an led strip. The electric starter has been gone over and some of the starter clutch parts have been replaced. Also the three bolts on the starter clutch have had loctite applied and the head of the bolt peened since there is a common problem with these bolts coming loose from the factory. Engine runs good. The carbs were cleaned and fitted with K&N pod filters. There are new points and condensor and the coils are new Dyna coils. There is also a back up kick starter. The tires are brand new Dunlops front and rear. The suspension is stock. The drive chain is new with about 290 miles on it. I hope I covered everything. Please feel free to ask me any questions. There are a few things I should tell you about the bike. The ignition switch is still the stock one and needs to be relocated. Right now it is ziptied to the front forks, but doesnt look bad. Also when you come to a stop the engine slows down but only to about 1500rpm's. I have been told that it is the advance and the springs are no longer available. I had plans on converting the system to electronic points but I don't have the time. There is a website that has the setup charliesplace it was around $250. Points on these old hondas require constant adjustment and can be a pain after awhile. Other than that the carbs could use a little jetting since the mufflers are no longer on there and the stock airbox has been altered.
