Vehicle Detail
This is a 1949 Chevrolet 3100 5 window Deluxe pickup truck. It is completely rust free! The truck is all metal except for the rear fenders, which are fiberglass. The front end has been swapped for a 1979 Camaro which features disc brakes. The rear end has been swapped for one from a 1985 Camaro with ladder bar suspension. The rear axle has also been moved 2" back in order to sit more symmetrically within the rear fenders. The rear is also wide enough that the bed did not need to be tubbed, so you get that great original look. The gas tank has been removed from the cab, and the hole has been filled. The driver's side vent has also been filled. Inside the truck the radio hole has been filled. A tilt steering column is installed, but there is no steering wheel. The only parts that I would list as possibly in need of replacement are the doors, and possibly only the driver's side, as well as the running boards. I do have a pair of running boards from a 1950 truck that are in good shape that I will throw in if the price is right. This truck is equipped with a 283 V8 out of a mid-60s Chevy Nova II and is mated to a 2-speed Powerglide transmission. The engine is not currently running as the project has been sitting for a while, but wouldn't take much to fire it up. Always stored inside until about 4 months ago, and that's one of the reasons I need to sell, I no longer have a covered space for it. I don't want it to sit outside for so long it is wasted. the truck is currently storred under a tarp and a waterproof car cover that you can see in the background. The truck sits low to the ground as the original owner was planning an air-bag suspension. All the hard work has been done. Now's your chance to finish it off with the paint (currently black primer) and interior you always dreamed of. I have all of the crack free glass. Truck comes with a large container full of parts as well. This truck was saved from a field where it was dying a slow death. As such there is no title, just a signed bill of sale. You can get a new title from your local DMV, but I want to make sure everyone is aware of this before they bid. Vehicle does NOT run or drive, so you will need to transport it on a flatbed trailer or tow truck to get it home! Please email with any questions! On Jan-07-12 at 18:52:44 PST, seller added the following information: The truck is for sale locally, and I reserve the right to end the auction early should it sell beforehand. On Jan-11-12 at 19:06:06 PST, seller added the following information: I apologize, the block number below was incorrect. The actual block # is 3849852.On Jan-13-12 at 07:14:23 PST, seller added the following information: Since we are so close to the reserve, I will definitely include the 2 running boards from a 1950 that are in very good shape.
