1989 Jeep Wrangler automatic (Jeep TF999 transmission) powered by a Mercedes 5 cylinder turbo diesel out of a 1982 300D, runs on diesel or vegie oil wvo / svo TWO TANK SYSTEM (heated fuel lines, fuel tank and fuel filter)that allows you to switch from one to the other. shackle reversal with RE 2.5 inch reverse eye leaf springs, spring over axle total of about 6-7 inche lift. 35" BFG and rock crawler rims. heim joints for steering (cost me $500 for steering alone). Slip yolk eliminator/cv driveshaft, 4.10 gears front and rear with open differentials. The Jeep drives really great on the freeway, tracks straight and I have never experienced any wobble of any kind. Comes with the light grey (almost white) hard top and a bikini top. Swing out tire carrier and gas can holders. registered in CA as diesel. The body is in fair shape no rust that I have seen. There are dents here and there and chips in the paint it is not perfect by any means. The interior is metal on the floor and there is no carpet kit ( I had plans to rhino line it) the door panels are in fair shape. The windshield is cracked and there are a few chips in it also. The crack doesn't obstruct your view (I was going to replace it if I got it painted). I did some math for milage and came up with over 50mpg. So if I put 5-6 gal of diesel in the tank and drove around 350 miles I would getting about 70 miles to each gallon of diesel. (I accually calculated 70mpg but I was doing a lot of non-stop driving. It really is determined by how many times you have to warm it up). warm up on diesel then switch to oil then a few minutes before you park (if you are parking for more than an hour) switch back to diesel. The diesel tank is about 8 gallons. oil is run in the main tank about 20 gal. I usually put in about 5-6 gallons of diesel a week. If you do a lot of short stops you can just leave it running on oil. I love the Jeep but it is just to small for the kids and dogs. If you know about or are using oil to run your car you know what this might be worth. I would prefer a local buyer. I have a spare engine that is not in very good shape that can go with the Jeep. I bought the Jeep here in San Diego. I have owned this Jeep since 2005. I have just out grown it.
