Vehicle Detail
Homebuilt replica of the famous Lotus Seven America. This is not a kit car, not a real Lotus, not a "Locost". The car is incomplete, but the most difficult work has been done for you. The frame is 1 inch square tubing with round tubing for the rear curved areas. The panels are aluminum except for the steel floor which is painted and undercoated. Included is what you see in the photos plus a Sprite/Midget 1275 cc engine (unknown condition), and Morris Minor 4 speed transmission (unknown condition). The rear axle is Opel/Chevette with adjustible linkage fore/aft and vertical. Suspension is coil-over shocks all around with the (new) front shocks rated for 400 pounds each to accomodate the 1275 engine. The fuel tank is Triumph GT6 which has been cleaned and sealed. Steering box is modified Spridget. Front axles are Pinto/Mustang II. Basic rudimentary wiring harness is included. No switches or gauges; no dash other than the template you see in the photos. The nose is a Westfield and has the correct grille. The nose is in good condition, but does have minor paint cracks. Included is a box of odds and ends accumulated during the built process including new brake and clutch master cylinders and brake lines. This car is not towable, not driveable, but easily trailerable. You must arrange pick up of the car, engine, and transmission. I will assist with loading onto your trailer. The car is located and has been stored in a dry enclosed garage 35 miles northwest of Charlotte, NC. I encourage serious bidders make an appointment to view the vehicle. I make no warranty explicit or implied about this vehicle. Be realistic: this is a project with many hours invested, but much more to do to make it driveable. If you've been dreaming of a Seven, why start from scratch? Expect a reasonable three figure reserve.
