Vehicle Detail

You are looking at my 1988 S-10 Chevrolet Blazer equipped with the Tahoe package. I ordered this vehicle in San Antonio, Texas where it has remained up until 9 years ago where it was transported to New York where I have kept it in my collection. I purchased it in 1988 and moved to New York in 1989 and left it with my father who drove it until 2003 when I took it back as he was getting on in years. It has NEVER been in snow or salt and has led a pretty cherished life. It has always had the best maintenance and repairs done to it and whenever NOS parts could be located, they were purchased without regard to expense. Upon my receiving it back from my father, I purchased an NOS steering wheel, wiper/turn signal combination switch, side moldings and headliner. I stripped and repainted it as it had scratches on every panel but no body damage or rust whatsoever. The push bar you see on the front was purchased the 2nd day after I purchased the Blazer and it has been on ever since. I had a customer who was a major tire distributor and he found me the original equipment Uniroyal tires! The spare tire you see on the back is the original tire that it came with and the 4 tires on the ground were replaced. Notice how they are almost identical! I also rebuilt the front and rear axles and differentials. I was not happy when I disassembled the rears and found out the GM had short changed me on the off road package. It stated it was coming with 3.73 gears but when I removed them, they are 3.42 gears! I guess Chevrolet didn't have any 3.73 gears that day! Oh well! The transmission was also overhauled and received a new converter. This Blazer runs and drives as a newer S10 Blazer should. The A/C does not work (probably from all the years of sitting) but it is all there. Everything else seems to work. We will service it for the new owner if desired. The rear hatch and tailgate work perfectly but the release is a little finicky but that happened pretty much right away. I ordered this Blazer with basically every available option except for the sliding side glass as I was worried they would leak. It seems like that was a smart decision! It has the 4.3 litre fuel injected V6, automatic overdrive, off road (external engine oil cooler) and trailer tow packages (included the trailer hitch you see), power windows, locks, steering, disc brakes and rear hatch, outside spare tire carrier, aluminum wheels, Uniroyal 235/70R15 white letter tires, AM/FM/CASS/EQ upgraded stereo system (the best one could get in 1988), 4 wheel drive with console, center lockable console, fold down rear seat, privacy glass, tinted glass, full instrumentation, tilt column, cruise control, intermittent wipers, halogen headlamps and the Tahoe package which gave you the nicer interior and all the exterior moldings. I ordered this truck in February 1988 as I had learned that the 4.3 litre V6 was becoming available for the first time in the Blazer and was scheduled for release the first week of May 1988. This Blazer was built in the first week of 1988 and I received it May 24, 1988. It may well be one of the first 4.3 V6 Blazers built! I have loved this truck but have not used it much in the past several years. It has some minor evidence of wear from being stored such as some minor chips, a couple of hard to see door dings on the passenger door and a ding in the right rear wheel opening molding. It is a difficult decision to sell it but if I can get what I feel it is worth to me, then I will. I do not have to sell this vehicle so please do not make ridiculous offers. When was the last time you saw a S-10 Blazer? In this condition? This was back when the SUV craze had not yet taken effect. The pictures of the underside are showing the condition today which is not much different then of it as it left the factory in 1988! It is in an untouched condition for all of these years! Any questions or to view it, please feel free to call Melvin Benzaquen at 845-712-5500 during normal Eastern time business hours.
