Vehicle Detail
Antique Vintage 1917 Chevy 490 Touring Car, Partially Restored, No Reserve! Car is a "490" as it originally cost $490 in 1917. Car is very straight with very little body work to be done, and it is virtually rust free. It is all original with "matching everything", however the engine head is from 1918. It is a California car, two owners. It has yellow and black license plates with a clear pink slip from 1945. The car was disassembled several years ago, stored inside, and restoration began. Many of the parts have been cleaned, primed, and painted, including the frame, transmission, gear box, front end, front wheels, support brackets, and miscellaneous parts. Parts of the body have also been sanded and primed. There is no body filler on this car. The wood structure is in excellent condition. Any questionable wood was replaced. The engine turns over and I strongly suspect it will run. The car has a new wiring harness and comes with all of the parts shown. Also included is a Chevrolet Service Manual, which did not get photographed. It needs complete restoration, and the only parts I am aware it is missing are the radiator cap, front emblem, rear seat frame, and frame for the top. Car is very straight, virtually rust free, partially restored, and an excellent candidate for restoration completion. Own and preserve a part of American history. Car is located in Walnut Creek, CA. Local pick up only. International buyer will need to arrange shipping method. I will assist with loading the vehicle at location for shipping. A PayPal deposit of $300 is required within forty eight (48) hours of close of auction. The remaining balance in the form of a Cashier's Check or Money Order is required within seven (7) days of close of auction. All sales are final. Thanks for your interest and time!
