ARIZONA SHOW TRUCK! SUPER LOW RESERVE! JUST IN TIME FOR XMAS! “Hammerhead Sled” ‘98 Crew Cab, Long Bed 3500 1 Ton Dually Hot Rod Professionally Built/Adult Owned I am NOT a dealer! Private Seller means NO TAX or Bogus Fees! You will pay only what you bid for and not a penny more. Bid with confidence! Look at my feedback 100%! I sell high end (20K+) custom cars, boats & bikes to happy customers everywhere! I am an honest seller, I have nothing to gain by lying about this truck. This is an open book as far as I am concerned. This is the 4th Dually I’ve built for myself, and by far the sweetest. Located in Tucson, Arizona which means no RUST EVER! If you’re a serious buyer, you’ll read every passionate word I have written about this truck. Thank you for taking the time to look at my listing. I’m a sincere seller. 8 Yes EIGHT! Functional Exhaust Pipes out the rear! I wanted to build an aggressive truck that screamed a little of “Road Warrior” meets current day “Green Hornet”, but also something that Dad wouldn’t want his daughter to ride in of fear of her catching something? This is an Intimidating, Ruthless Sled! Guaranteed to blow anyone away! This is a crazy looking truck and not for the conservative driver. I have NOT driven it yet accept down my driveway since it was completed. I towed it from shop to shop to get all of the work done…From my house to the Exhaust shop, then to the interior shop, then off to the Chevy Dealer (Watson Chevrolet, Tucson, AZ) for all of the body and paint, then back to my house where I put it all back together. My towing bills alone were over $600. I was going to keep this one but my wife and I are pregnant now and expecting TWINS in June! The Hot Rod Dually will help pay our medical bills. I will entertain interesting trades of value that I can sell to recover my investment only, but no projects or junk please. I'm not asking an arm/leg for this truck just fair market value. Here’s the story on the history to date that I know of: This truck has sat for a long time, un-driven, getting towed from shop to shop to get to this point, and since it’s completion has just sat at our house in the garage with a car cover over it and will remain so until the new owner picks it up. ps. These are unaltered pics, I took photos right before sunset, so some photos may appear brighter than others and may reflect surrounding desert or flash, but paint is indeed flawless. I bought this dually from a military guy that had it just sitting in his carport for almost 5 years here in Tucson while he was in Iraq. He told me he rebuilt the motor and replaced the instrument cluster at that time through the Chevy Dealer, (odometer currently shows 73K but title shows 272K). He said it would drive home but it first needed tires, a battery and the tranny reverse did not work. I didn’t care or wasn’t concerned about the history of it, I just needed to build this ride and had the okay from the wife. It was all there, rough, but workable, and I've built from worse beginnings. I have built over 20 cars in 5 years with my wife, and this was a no-brainer. I have been building sick rides through Watson Chevrolet alone for about 16 years and building cool rides for nearly 25. So, I bought the dually, and new tires, installed 2 batteries, and it fired right up. I drove it to a gas station immediately and drove it home with a temporary tag on it. The drive was about an hour away. It actually drove great home but had a leak in the airlines (It was already a bagged truck when I bought it). Once I got it home, I dug right in and we planned to do this build quickly. This was my 4th dually build and knew exactly what and where to get it all done at. I got the tranny pulled and had my tranny man (40 yr veteran tranny builder) pick up the old one and have it built. I gutted the interior, I took apart the rear diff, and re-did the airlines for the airbags. I also did a full-on tune up with all new filters, Gatorback serpentine, Wix Oil filter, open element air filter, Lucas Fluids in every orfice and flushed the coolant and replaced with AC Delco Orange. I cut functional Fender Vents/Gills like a shark in the front fenders, hence the name “Hammerhead Sled”. The paint and body are 100% immaculate, perfect, flawless! After it was painted, it was wet-sanded and buffed, so it is truly mirrorlike. I won’t let anyone touch it, let alone breathe on it when I lift the cover to show it to friends. The realistic flames have tons of hidden images in it, such as Ghosts, Skulls, Demons, Snakes, Ghouls, women body outlines, etc. It’s all hidden, but it’s there if you stare at it. The interior is new. The seats have never been farted on. The carpet has never seen shoes. The tires are brand new, the batteries are new, the tranny is new, the rear end is new, I installed a whole new front-end grille insert with LED lights behind it, new HALO headlamps, corners, taillights, and tailgate and stuff I am sure that I am forgetting. Because it sat so long, the gas is old, but it does run, just poorly. It spits and sputters like the timing might be off, but I never messed with the timing. I did put new plugs and wires on it, and think that maybe the wires are suspect? While I write this ad, it really donned on me that this is the issue with it. I didn’t mess with anything else that could have just “went bad” by itself. I haven’t taken it out on the road to blast out all the crap that could be just sittin’ in the gas tank, but I did replace the fuel filter as well and put in a bottle of Lucas Injector Cleaner. I have about 80 pictures from start to finish documenting this build. Winning bidder can have all the pics I took. The truck is all there, but I don’t want to put anymore time into it. I have so much on my plate with a demanding job, a busy farm, a family and now prepping for new twins. I have my hands full to say the least. This is a simple project. I’d probably invest in some good AC Delco Wires (I used Borg Warner brand I think when I probably should have just bought some from the dealer) This is literally a brand new truck that really needs a good owner. I would suggest only have this truck towed to its final destination and finish it there, but it does start, drive and shift. I will list everything I can remember and list costs (if substantial). May the right person win! -$4,700 in paint & body alone, not including parts. ($1,200 in bodywork, $2000 in paint, $1500 in realistic flames= 4700) -All new Exterior Door handles $200 -$1200 Bed Topper Cover -Powder-Coated Wheels $400 -New Michelin tires from Costco $600 -2 New Interstate batteries $130 -Steel Roll Pan $125 -$900 in Exhaust work/Flowmasters, + Fabrication $1200 for Tranny Rebuild -$2000 in Interior -$600 in Air Ride parts to fix air system-2 new compressors + 2 tanks(Doesn’t include the original cost of about $2K in Suspension & Fab -New Windshield $200 -New Side Mirrors $120 -Steel Cowl GM Hood $550 -Spray Tinting fee for Clearance, Courtesy and Tail Lights $200 This is about all I can think of moneywise that I put into it after I bought the truck. (just this above list alone is about 13K), plus what I bought the original truck for and not to mention 100’s of man hours in labor. This was a labor of love for sure. Here’s more spec on the rest: -Chevrolet 7.4 Litre 454 Big Block Engine -4L80E Tranny Auto w/ Overdrive -Air Conditioning -Silverado Package: Tilt, Cruise, power everything -1 Ton Dually Class 3500 -Actual mileage unknown due to engine rebuild -Air Bagged Suspension - 2 On board compressors, and 2 tanks bolted to custom assembly bolted to inside of bed.
