Up for sale is this rare and beautiful 1970 Opel GT. I am the third owner and have owned it for over 10 yrs. This is a rust free car that has had no major accidents. This GT participated in the 2007 launching of the New Opel GT (Saturn Sky) held by Opel GM in Palm Springs, CA. (Autographed by original Opel GT designer Chuck Jordan and top Opel executives). It has also participated in numerous car shows including the Opel OMC car show in Van Nuys, CA and the Fallbrook Vintage car show in Fallbrook, CA. This car has received several upgrades to enhance performance and reliability. This car is equipped with a powerful 2.4lt Opel CIH motor (less than 1000 miles on fresh rebuild, which included replacement of a cracked piston, new piston rings and bearings, work done by well known experienced Machine shop in Anaheim, CA recommended by well known engine specialist Roger Wilson.). Motor also has a newly rebuilt Weber 38/38 DGAS Carburator, new water pump, new radiator hoses, heavy duty 3 core radiator, new rebuilt starter, new 60 amp rebuilt GM alternator, electronic ignition (Pertronix), new belt, new battery and new battery cables. This "like new" motor is mated to a smooth shifting 5spd Getrag gearbox, new clutch, LSD rear end with disc brakes, Big front brake package with 4 piston calipers and vented rotors, stainless steel front brake hoses, polyurethane suspension bushings, Sport transverse leaf spring (OGTS), stainless exhaust with Anza tips, correct fitting 15" BBS rims (imported from Germany $$), Goodyear GT performance tires. Exterior has a complete recent (6mo.) paint (matched to original color), period correct fender mounted chrome bullet mirrors, clear Euro side marker lenses front and rear, upgraded Hella H4 headlights and Hella H2 Euro driving lights, rechromed bumpers (3yrs ago), front and rear windshield rubber in very good condition. Interior has black carpet in very good condition, intact headliner, Recaro seats, Momo steering wheel and shifter, Lenk white gauges (Imported from Germany $$$), professionally installed electric windows, JVC detachable radio with 3 way speakers, dash is in good condition with a few cracks (has dash cover). Also included is a new custom all weather top quality car cover from OGTS. To do List: Install new door window rubber (included with sale), check dash lights (flicker on/off, likely due to loose ground wire), Install New Front Performance Stabilizer Bar from OGTS (included with sale). *Also included is a much sought after and expensive A/C system (ARA) which includes compressor, center console, rear mounted blower and miscellaneous parts. I will also throw in a JVC 12 disc CD changer (new in box). This is a unique opportunity to own a very rare and highly upgraded vintage sports car that has appreciated in value over the years.
