This is NOT a collectible Grand Wagoneer, it is NOT in perfect shape and it does have 185k miles, that is 7,400 miles a year considering its a 25 yr old vehicle; Instead, this is and has been a daily driver, therefore, it can be used for the weekends, as a second car or still as a daily driver. The Transmission is shifting properly (no jerking or hard shifting), the differential is not making any grinding noises and the engine is running strong and there are no tapping noises. I just had it checked by my mechanic less than 2 months ago and he changed some seals (was leaking some oil), he also had the spark plugs, wires, cap & rotor,fuel and oil filters changed and did an oil change, too. He wasn't an expert on carburating so I took it to an expert who charged me $200 for the job and I just had it smog-checked this past week, so, it comes with a CA smog check. The title is Clear and salvage-free; Registered 'til Nov 16, 2012. Paperwise and mechanically it's uptodate. When I bought it it needed some cosmetics. What attracted me to it was that it ran very strong on the freeway, the a/c worked (still does) and the cruise control worked, too. The transmission and differential worked perfect so I decided that the cosmetic issues could be worked on and I did. I had it painted (same color), had the wood panel on the left side changed, did the whole upholstery, complete new front and rear seats and headliner, it took 2 weeks non stop to the upholstery shop to complete it. I also had some power window motors/guides replaced. I had all this and many more things done to it that I don't recall now but still, I want to stress out that it is still not a show car, it is indeed an eye catcher and many people approach me when I take it out and compliment me on it, I have seen people approach the Wagoneer when it's parked, I see some turn their heads to see it when I'm driving it, I like that, knowing that eventhough it's not a collectible or a 40k dllr car it catches attention but to be honest, it's a 25 yr old SUV, it looks ok on the outisde, runs good and the interior is good too, I'd say the interior is the best (the whole carpet, from front all the way to the very rear cargo area, plus the 4 mats are the original ones and are in very good condition). I had all 4 side window weather-strips replaced with new ones, the ones made of rubber that clean and hold the windows when rolling up and down, they tend to brittle/crack and make windows rattle. I'm recalling now that I replaced the wiper blades less than 1 month ago. I also like that it has the optional Sunroof and it works. How many do you see with that option? I have seen many on line and 1 out of 10 or so have that factory option. (it doesn't leak when it rains) The 4x4 works great, High and Low, Low is very strong. It's a 4by on the fly, no need to manually lock/unlock the hubs. I want to highlight the following: There is NO rust under the car. It has been a CA Wagoneer since day 1, I have the OG Owner's manual with the OG owner's info on it and they live in Northern CA, from there it was sold to a Family in Santa Barbara and then to a person who lived about 30 miles South of Sta Barbara and then me, in a suburb of Los Angeles. Power seats work, all windows work, including the rear one that works with the button on the panel by the lights' switch. I fixed the mechanism to roll it up and down with the key from the back but found out yesterday it wasn't working, I'll check that this week but I don't guarantee I'll solve that. Power locks work, all of them but sometimes, the one for the driver's doesn't want to go up so I have to open it with the key, it always goes down. It is sometimes annoying for I have an alarm installed and the clicker locks and unlocks the doors. I also have 2 kill switches, yes, TWO. (better safe than sorry, lol) Also, the gas gauge works, even the little yellow light when you are almost empty comes on but the gauge has some play, normally when you first start it/move it, it is not 100% acurate, it has some play but it does work. It has a CD player that works. The tires have easily 70% or more tread. There are no broken a/c vents, (I mean the 4 or 5 small separaters that make the a/c vent). It has the towing hitch. I had the windows tinted to 20% ( it looks darker in the pics but its actually the one below limousine window tinting). All the lights work, even the one for the rear lic plate. And last but not least: eventhough its age, there are no rattles when you are driving it or when you go over some railroad tracks, it is not a noisy ride. UPDATE: I had mentioned the mechanism to roll up and down the rear window with the key had stopped working, I took it to the locksmith and it has been fixed (it was loose), that window operates as it should, with the key and with the button from inside. Also, he did install extra power to the driver's door lock that sometimes wouldn't want to unlock and it hasn't failed me since he did that (hope it stays like that). While at the locksmith I had him service/grease the gears to the mechanism to the window. The license plates go with the car, in CA we don't take them off, you can drive it to the local DMV or to your hometown out of state with them w/o getting any forms from local DMV, I guess you turn them-in overthere. I could pick up and meet the winner at any of our nearby airports within 50 miles from me if flying out-of-town. I mentioned the a/c worked, the heater blows hot, too, both work! Finally, my nephew has brought to my attention that the newest Superman movie, MAN OF STEEL, has been filmed and it will be playing in June and a Waggy is in it, guess what interior and exterior color it is? =) (that was a good sales pitch, lol)
