After seeing the interest that car garnered from those holding a similarly strong affinity for these Volvo wagons, I have decided to find a new home for this one, too. This 240 was parental owned and then given to their two granddaughters. The third has now declared that given her academic proficiency, (achievements that she quickly points out exceeded that of both of her sisters) that she is deserving of a new S40. She has presented a lucid & thorough arguement. These Volvo 240's are considered by some to be among the best Volvos ever made. They are extremely safe & reliable. This car is no exception, it has been purposeful, always faithful and served us well. This is attributed to the care it always received regardless of which family member was steward, at the time. The 240 looks, runs and drives well. It is an ideal student or secondary car with many miles still to go...the 2.3 cylinder provides upwards of 30 mpg. The only aesthetic drawback(s) are as follows: the clearcoat on the hood and roof has flaked in spots, it is a light blue/silver metallic paint. It did not hold up nearly as well as the "appliance" white paint did on the 1989. The rest of the vehicle paint still shows a nice finish. There is a small dent on the driver door, difficult to see in the photo. The right rear tail light lens has a crack, a new one and small piece of trim for over the passenger side front directional have been ordered and will be installed prior to the sale. I have honestly and accurately represented the Volvo. I am not a dealer and as stated, this is one of my personal family vehicles. The title is clean, clear and issued in my name. I have had good success on eBay when selling vehicles from my personal collection. Those that have purchased my vehicles have consistantly had their expectations exceeded.
