You are bidding on a professionally restored 1971 Pontiac GTO. This is a numbers matching car w/ factory 400, automatic transmission, Hurst dual- gate shifter, hood tach, power disc brakes, power steering and air conditioning. I bought this car a year ago for $33K. It was professionally restored 4 years ago and they did a fantastic job. The previous owner claimed to have spent a total of $50K and I believe it. When the car was restored, it only had 36,000 original miles. There was no rust damage and all the metal is original. The body was stripped to the bare metal and painted Cameo Ivory with clear coat (the color combo is very unique and striking in it's simplicity). The original 400 motor was pulled and professionally rebuilt to factory specs. The transmission and rear- end were also removed and rebuilt/ restored. All new OEM suspension and brake components were used on the body of the car. This car also features a completely redone dual exhaust system with Flow Master 40 Delta Series mufflers. The glass and trim is fantastic, as is the all new weather striping. The bumpers are brand new and really shine. The factory wheels were restored and a Judge rear spoiler was added. The interior was completely redone with new carpet, seat covers, door panels, steering wheel, headliner, etc. A Pioneer CD player was installed in the glove box. This car drives like the day it rolled off the assembly line.... everything works like it should. I have driven this car approximately 8,000 miles since it was restored and have taken it to several large car shows where it has yet to go home without a trophy or medal. The GTO has factory AC, but it is not hooked up. There is also a very small rust bubble on the bottom edge of the drivers door. It is no bigger than the size of a dime and can easily be fixed. Aside from that, there is absolutely no rust anywhere on the car. Compare this to 32,731 hardtops produced in 1970 and 58,126 in 1969. I forgot to mention that I do have the original build sheet for the car as well. This car sold in the last auction, but the purchaser did not have the money available and could not get the necessary funds. Please do not bid unless you have the money.
