Please also visit the InterSchola Store to see other assets for sale! 1948 Buick Special 2-Door Sedanette Fastback, Straight 8, Original Condition Item Description:This is a 1948 Buick Special 2-Door Sedanette Fastback, Straight 8, original condition, with what is believed to be 51,985 original miles. The car has been stored in a college auto garage since 1998 when it was given to the college as a gift from the original buyer of the vehicle and was never driven. The Straight 8 is running well and uses a 6-volt battery system. The six volt battery is dead, and the vehicle had to be jump started but purred and ran smoothly. Will need a new battery built for antique cars. This Buick and has an excellent exterior. It is probable that the paint was redone, but it was an excellent job and hard to tell - it matches the paint on the spare tire in trunk. There is no rust or damage to the undercarriage, trunk, or anywhere that can be seen. I did a visual of the undercarriage and it was remarkably clean Some of vehicle chrome is pitted, and there are a few places where the chrome looks worn and a couple places where the chrome as been damaged and was banged out to the original shape but shows obvious distress. There are no visible problems with the grill or bumper outher than some surface wear that could be cleaned out easily. This Buick also has an excellent interior. Headliner, upholstery and door panels are clean although the driver's side arm rest shows wear. You can see a little wear on the bottom of the original door linning and the white piece at the bottom of the seat from shoe heals but the seats themselves are clean - see video.The steering wheel and seats look incredible for a car this old. Glass is clean without any issues. There are some surface scratches in a few places around the vehicle. Comes with original Buick Owner's Manual and additional printed literature. Research in 1998 showed that there were only 78 of this particular vehicle that was registered in the US, with only 10 in California. The vehicle was given to a local college in 1998 and has been cloth covered inside a garage since then. We have the California Title from the original owner, but the school never registered it in their name, so there might be some back registration dues. Although we have specific dates and times for pickups, we can work with auto transportation companies if they can meet during other times.
