Our interest is in moving this one from our garage to yours so our original reserve price has been reduced 400 dollars. Here's our original listing (with some additional information): Thanks for stopping by to take a closer look at our pampered 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser GT Convertible. This one is the desirable pale yellow color Chrysler called "Vanilla." Interior is greyish tan. Several things about this car are remarkable. Current mileage, at 51,000, is at that perfect place for years of trouble free driving (odometer on most 7-year old-cars will show about a hundred thousand miles) while offering a full compliment of both comfort and panache at a bargain price. And when you're driving this iconic convertible (easy up and down top) you'll enjoy the classy statement it communicates whether you're just driving along the beach or in the valet lane of a posh Beverly Hills restaurant. Another plus is that this car was manufactured at a time when Daimler and Chrysler had merged. As a result the car shares Mercedes Benz engineering features as well as some Mercedes switch gear. The transmission's + - upshift/downshift feature, for instance, is directly from Mercedes. And even though this PTC can be purchased at a bargain price, it is loaded with all the desirable options. Here's the list: In addition to all the basic power options car buyers have come to expect (steering, brakes, windows, mirrors, door locks, air conditioning, cruise control, keyless entry, tinted glass, tilt/telescopic wheel, tachometer, driver and passenger air bags, variable-speed intermittent wipers), it also has a raft of premium options: -Premium AM/FM/CD Stereo System -Premium Leather Seating (note French Seams and Perforated-Leather Seating Areas - qualities found in only in seats of the most expensive cars) -Leather Covered Steering Wheel -Side-Impact Air Bags -Anti-Lock, Four-Wheel Disc Brakes -Heated Front Seats with Driver Lumbar (Yes, heated seats!) -Automatic, Climate Controlled A/C -High Output Turbo Engine -'Slap-Stick' Transmission Control -Chrome Wheels -Convertible Top "Boot" (pictured) -Anti-Theft Device -Steering Wheel Stereo Controls -Auxiliary Fog/Driving Lights -Fold down rear seat (good for accomodating skis) Although it's not always mentioned, one of the built-in elements that makes the PTC Convertible a particularly desirable convertible, is that from the standpoint of safety, it includes a built-in roll bar - a feature that few other convertibles have - and a feature that, in addition to side impact air bags (an option) adds considerably to the driver's and passenger's feeling of security. Former owners of this car treated it to all required maintenance (service receipts included) and made sure it was in top shape. The current owner, my friend Gregg, for whom I'm listing this beautiful convertible, recently replaced four tires with acceptable tread with brand new premium tires in the original size and brand. Be sure to click on the Auto Check report and note this car's high score. You can note that it passed California's very stringent emissions test earlier in the year. Gregg, who purchased this car for his wife some two years ago (and now has a newer replacement), mentions that from new (April, 2005), it has resided within about 20 miles of its current Newport Beach location. Nice to know its an All-California Car that wasn't driven along the East Coast in the snow, slush and salt. Shiny paint and unfaded interior show it's been parked out of the elements and a minimum of time sitting out in the sun. Some other things Gregg pointed out about his PTC: Gets great mileage on Regular Gas; engine, with 'High Output' Turbo boost quickly accelerates to (and beyond) freeway speeds; runs, shifts, and handles much like you drove it off the dealer's lot. It's a 'No Excuses Car'. This car is licensed, insured and an unencumbered California title is in hand. The 'CRZ2BCH' plates are transferable. Because it has been treated with care, this PTC Convertible is similar to the year-old car you'd find on the lot of your local Chrysler Dealer. Looking closely, about all you'll find is a little road rash on the leading edge of the spoilers. The car has never been damaged/repaired - and the interior, as you can see from the photos, shows to be in almost mint condition. Engine compartment has not been detailed. (but failed to ad the photo which can be eMailed to you upon request). I suspect, if you see and drive this car, you'll fall in love with it - especially when you consider that the selling price will be about couple thousand less than a dealer would ask. The car is located in Newport Beach, California and available with advance notice to see and drive. This car is sold as is/where is so do be sure before you bid that you're satisfied this car is compatible with your interests and your pocket book. Car pickup and payment in full in an acceptable form of funds is due within 7 days of auction close. It will be released when funds, other than cash, clear.
