Vehicle Detail
Hello and Thank You for viewing my auction. You are bidding on a 1973 Grand Am coupe 400. This is a very rare car and only made 1 year with these tail lights. There is a fully restored one on ebaymotores for $28,000 and not many others. Middle price on a "driver" condition car on Nada Collector Car Value Guide is $15,000. These cars are going up in value quickly due to their rarity. I am selling off my collection of vehicles due to relocating overseas and unfortunately cannot take them with me. I had 3 of these Grand Am's and the last two I sold went to Germany and now this one has to go. I have tried to include many photos and a video link to youtube to give you an honest description of the car. The body is silver and was repainted around 3 years ago and still looks very nice. There are a couple of chips in the rubber piece between the bumper as I have pointed to in a couple of the photos. It has nice 18 inch wheels that really make this car stand out and the 2 front tires are like new and the 2 rear are still serviceable for awhile. The engine runs very nice and all you have to do is pump the gas twice and it starts up and idles on it own...feels like a fuel injected car. The engine is very strong and sounds excellent with no smoke or noises. Has an Edelbrock 4 barrel carb,Edelbrock intake,Edelbrock chrome valve covers, braided lines, electronic ignition and a few more goodies on the motor and a hurst 1/4 stick shifter. Has exhaust and the car is fairly quiet but with a nice set of mufflers and tail pipes it would really make the car sound nice. Interior is all original and is in good "driver" condition. There are tears in the driver seat but the passenger and rear seat are nice. Someone replaced the carpet with a cheap carpet and it really could use an original cut carpet(they sell here on ebay around $140.00). Wipers, headlights, brake lights, tail lights, turn signals all work. Clock does not work, radio(factory) does not work, blower motor does not turn on,horn does not work,Power windows do not work but you can pull them up and down with your hands to bring them up or down. There are 2 new window motors/regulators in the trunk for the windows that I never installed that are included with the car. Trunk is very sold as you can see in the pictures. I took some undercarriage pictures and the important parts like the chassis is excellent. There is a small patch on the front floor that appears to have been done years ago. Still has the original rally foam steering wheel in very nice condition. I am trying to mention all the small details so you get a real honest description on the car. Brakes work great and transmission shifts fine. Could use a ball joint or tierod or some small suspension piece on the passenger side front as I can hear a little rattle from there when I hit a bump. All in all a nice cruiser car that you can keep it as is and enjoy it from day one or restore it a little at a time as you go to make it perfect. Please remember the car is 40 years old so it will not be "brand new". I have been selling on ebay for 12 years with perfect feedback until recently when I get a low feedback user which was a "dealer" looking to sell my car for a profit and expected a brand new car and wanted me to split the cost of a paintjob to make the car look new, which had better than average paint for a 20 year old car...what a joke. This car is a very presentable fun toy that will only appreciate in value in years to come. Parts are easy to find because alot of Pontiac Lemans parts interchange and other GM cars from this era. I have the car listed locally on Craigslist and reserve the right to end the auction if the vehicle sells locally. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer and I will do what I can on my end to help load the vehicle and communicate with the transporters. International bidders are welcomed to bid. I If you have any questions please dont hesitate to ask otherwise happy bidding and Happy Holidays! Sorry for the confusion and Thank You for pointing this out to me. I have set a very low reserve on the car. Thanks again and Please let me know if you have any other questions. :)
