1974 TR5MX Avenger Frame/Engine #: TR5MXEH75172 · 499cc, · Overhead valve single · Weight of bike is 340lbs · 60mpg · Top Speed is 85mph Really a BSA B50MX with Twin silencers from one exhaust This MX bike is the same as a BSA500SS frame and fittings-wise, and large leap ahead. The B50 MX was designed for off road competition and produced between 1971 and 1973. The very last MX's produced were therefore coming off the production line after the demise of BSA and were 'badged' as the Triumph TR5MX. Triumph started building the TR5MX in 1973. It handles very well. These are built with offset wheels to the right to compensate for the motor being offset to the left. These come stock with tapered Timken bearings in the steering head + needle bearings in the swing arm. There is a very low center of gravity. She is very trustworthy to handle all situations without any type of ?wallow, or unpredictability. A joy to maneuver for sure. Purchased new side panels in 2003 Original Dunlop tires that show no signs of dry rot and hold air with full nobbies still present after 38 years. Added stainless steel spokes in 2003 Starts and runs great. Located in Salina, Kansas, USA Good transferable Iowa title.
