Vehicle Detail
I am selling my 1993 Ford taurus SHO. Let me just start off by saying. You will not find a nicer SHO in the midwest. And I doubt you will find two many that have been taken care of like this one. This SHO has a 3.2 Engine Block (78k on it) from an ATX SHO... MTXs had 3.0's. This has the 3.0 cams on it for longer duration. The best of both worlds, so it has the torque and the topend. 1993 Ford Taurus SHO, Manual 5-spd 113,xxx Miles Green Exterior with Gray Half/Half interior (half leather half cloth) Power EVERYTHING works.. rare in a SHO... all power windows seats, antenna, moonroof, gas door.. all work. only "option" is a fully functional sunroof (SHOs are pretty optioned out already) Exterior CF Cowl Hood with hood pins (professionally installed) Brand new Headlamp assemblies New Foglights (Bright as fuck) 20% tint with lifetime warranty 17" Edge Engineering chrome rims Silverstar Headlights LED Tailights Interior Hard Button EATC (95 only) White face gauges Autometer Shift light Brushed aluminum gauge bezel 2007 Mustang GT shift knob Kenwood Headunit with Ipod hookup Engine Performance and stuff like that 3.2 Engine Block (78k on it) from an ATX SHO... MTXs had 3.0's. This has the 3.0 cams on it for longer duration. The best of both worlds, so it has the torque and the topend. 3.2L Injectors Southbend Stage 2 Clutch SHO Source Equal Length Catless Y-Pipe 2007 Mustang GT Mufflers Ported Intake Runners Big Bore Butterflies PROFLOW Maf Ported TB CAI with brand new KN filter Battery RELOCATED to the trunk with 0 gauge wiring Delrin Shifter Bushings and clevis pin.. shifter is tight Brakes and Suspension Cobra 13" Dual Piston Calipers Cobra 13" Rotors Slotted ALSO have an additional set of FORD OEM COBRA ROTORS to give to the new owner. Duralast Cmax Ceramic pads Stockers in the rear, only 2k miles on them, Cmax Pads as well Koni Adjustable Struts all around, ranging from SUPER mushy to SUPER rough Eibach Springs GEN 3 (1996-99) subframe... The Gen 3 subframe is lighter, and has a better suspension geometry than the gen 2 subframe, so this car uses all 96+ suspension components! GEN3 Aluminum Subframe Bushings New Moog Greasable Endlinks Full length Subframe Connectors (not installed, but will include) Maintenance The previous owner bought the car with a bad rod (at 108k).. So he junked the 3.0 and tossed in a 75k mile 3.2 Block. FULL 60k (all seals and sensors) done at 108k NEW rod bearings at 108k (engine at 75k) (good to do them after 100k) Old ones looked great still New Motorcraft Thermostat at 108k New 02 Sensors at 108k New Rear main Seal at 110k New Moog Balljoints at 109k New Rain-X wipers Since i only put 4k miles on it in over 2 years of ownership.. i changed the oil EVERY 3 months... Motorcraft Synthetic Blend 5-30 and Motocraft Filter... ALWAYS The Good: - St Louis car, 95% rust free. You will not find a less rustier one in illinois. - Every power option works, all dash lights work. - AC is SUPER cold - HEAT is SCORCHING! - The car can take ANY abuse given to it... its a solid built car with basically stock parts and a wicked suspension. From the maintenance and the rod bearings this car will last WELL OVER 200k miles. - We think all the previous owners never had familes or sat anyone in the back seat. The doors (latches) "SNAP" at you when you open them.. the rear doors sound brand new and are very stiff when opening. (this is a good thing) The "bad" or annoying: - Seeps the slightest bit of oil from the driver side. Maybe 1 drop a day, literally. We replaced the rear main seal when the clutch was out, and that didnt fix the problem. This is a notorious problem for SHOs. It might be a oil pan gasket though, im not sure. It doesnt leak enough to bother me. Taurus SHO, Taurus, Fast,On Oct-30-11 at 08:50:09 PDT, seller added the following information: I have had a lot of interest and questions below are some answers - Car is not new it is nearly 18 years old - Car has the typical rattles and squeaks for its age (Mainly interior door panels) - Car has adjustable suspension. Right now its set to maximum stiffness. So there is not much give over bumps. (This is easily adjusted ) - The body of car is in excellent condition for its age. There is only minimum rust underneather. But there is some! - Mechanical this car is great as well. I would drive this car anywhere and I do! - The exhaust is custom. So it is louder then stock obviously. Its not annoying to me. But everyone hears things differently. - Interior is in good shape. There are some stains on carpet that could come out with a good shampooing. - There is a tear on the driver seat side bolster. - Sunroof does work.
