Vehicle Detail
For sale is this 1991 Infiniti M30 Convertible. These were limited production vehicles and finding an example in this condition is becoming exceedingly difficult. What makes this particular vehicle so rare is the triple black color combination (Black exterior, interior, and top). In all the years I have been an enthusiast of these cars, I have never found one with a factory black leather interior, as most had tan or grey leather. I'd venture to say that this was a special order car. The photos of this vehicle should accurately depict the current condition of this vehicle, as they were taken just prior to listing this vehicle for sale. In an effort to disclose all that I know about this vehicle, I will list the specifics, as well as the features that function properly, those that do not, and other miscellaneous defects. Year, Model, Mileage: 1991 Infiniti M30 Convertible. Engine is a 3.0 Liter 6 cylinder motor, the same motor Nissan used in the venerable 300ZX of the same era. Car has 145,024 actual miles (properly functioning odometer and trip meter) Color: Black exterior. Black leather interior. Black convertible top. The paint is completely original, with no touch ups or re-paint ever! The car has always been garaged, preserving the glassy smooth surface that you see. The interior is in exceptional condition, and the leather is well preserved. Arizona weather tends to be tough on a car's interior and exterior surfaces, but one look at this car and it is evident that it was always loved and cared for. History: A very solid west-coast car. I do not believe it has ever been in any sort of accident. The body looks straight and original. Clean AZ title, no liens, no salvage, shows actual miles. Mechanical: The engine is strong and solid. Transmission shifts with solid, crisp and distinct shifts between gears- no slipping. The car starts right up every time. Engine temperature runs perfect even on the hottest days. I have driven this car extensively in stop and go traffic and on highways and it is a very nice driving car. Lots of get up and go, with a nice sounding factory exhaust. I did notice a power steering leak, having to add power steering fluid in the resevoir every few days. Features: Two front tires are matching Goodyear Assurance tires and look nearly new, about 90% tread remaining. Rear tires are matching Champion LeMans tires with about 80% tread remaining. Brand new battery. Power convertible top, Pioneer radio with remote, Infiniti trunk mounted CD Changer, power seats, power windows, power mirrors, power door locks, air conditioning works. Factory security system. Defects: As beautiful as this car shows, please remember that it is 20 years old. By no means do I intend to represent this car as perfect, as older cars tend to have their own distinct quirks. Overall, I could nit-pick minor details, but everything is reasonable considering year and mileage. This is a nice, solid, rare car with most features functioning as they should. The two most noticeable defects are the power steering leak mentioned above, and the power convertible top mechanism is finicky. The power top motor works, but it takes a few tries to get the top to go down all the way. When depressing the "Top down" button, you have to manually push up on the leading part of the convertible top until the motor "catches" and proceeds to bring the top down. I have noticed it works better when the car is on an incline, such as parked on a sloped driveway. Perhaps the hydraulic resevoir is low on fluid? I was able to use the power top feature to raise and lower the top for the photographs and included some photos that show the top in action. Also, the top itself is original, and is in ok condition but not perfect (no rips or tears, just aging fabric and plastic window). The original paint is in very, very nice condition. However, the top of the plastic rear bumper shows some slight oxidation. Also, the front driver's corner and rear passenger corner of the bumper have some superficial scratches. Please view the extensive photos for these defects, but rest assured that this car does show as nicely in person as it does in photos. The trunk requires a prop-rod to keep it open, the struts that hold the trunk open are weak. If you are an out of state buyer, I can pick you up from Phoenix’s Sky Harbor International Airport should you chose to fly here, or I can help facilitate shipping in any reasonable manner, but all shipping related costs are the responsibility of the buyer.
