Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is my 1967 Dodge D100. I've only had it a few weeks, and was mainly selling to assist with my wife's kitchen and living-room remodeling venture. With that project now nearing completion, I'm going to try and free up some room in the drive. The truck had the front stubbed with a 1977 Chrysler Cordoba IFS. They did a pretty good job with the fabrication, and the truck tracks straight down the highway with only a finger on the wheel. This is a common modification to get the low ride height, as the D100 from the factory is leafsprung in the front/rear.DRIVETRAIN: The truck has a 2brl/318LA, this is of course a V8, and is mated to a TF727 transmission w/ a lokar floor shifter. Rear-end is the standard 8.75 with drum, and the front is disc. High-Flow, aluminum radiator keeps the truck very cool. Dual-flowmasters, fed by Hedman headers. Power steering and manual brakesBODY:Body is pretty straight overall; has the normal hood-rise common to trucks of this era. Doors shut with ease and only has a few indentions here and there from the previous owner. The only rust issues that I know of is a small strip about 1" wide, and 8" long on the inside floor pan where it meets with the interior step. Can't really see it unless you look in from the driver's side (Carpet has been removed, to prepare for floor coating and vinyl flooring). Door corners have a touch of rust on the outside, and the rocker on the drivers side has some perforations. Passenger side bed corner has some rust, only at the bottom. I tell you this so you'll know all that I know about the truck. The truck is very solid for almost 45 years old. I had an estimate to replace the areas in question, and to remove the rust and weld in new pieces came in at about $400.00 +/- . This is not a rust bucket by any means, as it will surprise you on how good of shape it is underneath. Rockers for example are $35.00 a side from RockAutoParts.com. Other items of note: This truck was previously used as a DD for almost a year by the previous owner, and I drove it back 4 hours from Charlotte on the highway, without a bit of problem. The truck is cold natured, but will crank up instantly and idle, but give it time to warm up and she'll run like a champ. Simple carb/choke adjustment would fix it, but im unfamiliar with older carter 2bbl carbs. The previous owner had a 4bbl Holley on it and had no issue with running it cold, and stated it really woke the truck up, (so that narrows it to the carb set-up). Honestly, I crank it up, go in the house for about 5 mins, hop in a drive it until it gets to the proper operating temp. Transmission shifts fine, and pulls fine, no slipping. Higher stall converter. Only things I can think of is it could use a power steering pump and box in the future. Maybe $100.00 total for both. I've been driving it everyday for the last week or two. Really fun to drive, and people love this truck. I have thought about pulling it from ebay a number of times because it is fun to drive (and still might), but I could use the extra cash for other projects, or a deckover gooseneck 24' +. This is a good truck, and if it doesn't sell it won't break my heart. All reasonable offers considered.Truck is a head-turner. I've had more thumbs-up from people while driving, than with any other vehicle I've owned. She is fun to drive, and its nice to see an old sweptline on the road versus the C10s and F100s. It could use some TLC here and there, but its a great start, and honestly, I would just throw some carpet and a 4bbl in it, and call it a day. I think this truck is happy being primered and loud. It's not in this truck's nature to be a show-pony. Can "assist" with delivery, and will be glad to get it to a near-by shipper, if that is your choice.Location: Myrtle Beach
