Vehicle Detail
I have for sale a 1978 R100S with just under 44,000 actual miles. The miles on this bike are original. I purchased the bike in 1988 and am the 3rd owner. It has the 44 mm exhaust valves in it and also has had the unleaded valve conversion done by CC Products in California with new stainless steel exhaust valves, new guides and springs. It has the Dyna III electronic ignition and the original points plate will be included in the sale it you ever want to switch it back to the original ignition system. It is not the original paint and there is no tool box or any manuals that will come with this sale. It has a Corbin seat, Koni shocks, BMW mudflap, tire pump, dual horns and a smoked wind screen. The tires are in very good condition as the pictures will show. There are a few scratches as the pictures will show and that can be expected with a 33 year old bike. The bike runs very strong with no leaks or problems. It has the BMW quartz clock and the volt meter is made by stuart warner. The gas tank is clean and the fuel petcocks work as they should. The Corbin seat is in very good condition with no tears or blemishes of any kind. The battery is new and was just purchased at Walmart. Lots of brake pads left on both front and rear. The Krauser bags are in fair shape but someone has cut off the luggage rack that came as part of the saddlebag mounts. The headlite switch is located to the right of the tackometer and the switch on the left side of the speedometer is for the driving lites mounted on the crash bars. The driving lites only work when using the high beam for the headlite. The slotted stainless steel header covers were added as an accessory. I know that from the previous owners of this bike, that all the periodic maintenance has been done and I have also did all the maintenance to this bike since I have owned it. The bike is ready to go with no issues or problems. I have tried my best to describe this bike in detail and I encourage you to e-mail me with any questions you may have before you bid on this 33 year old classic. Good luck in your bidding and thanks for looking. I reserve the right to end the auction early, as it is also listed as being for sale locally.
