Vehicle Detail
1982 Honda CB-450SC Nighthawk. 6035 miles. Candy Wineberry Red. I just didn't ride this bike much at all as we usually went dirt riding on the weekends since I've owned it and now must sell for financial reasons. Nice condition with the few usual nicks, a few small scratches and minor/minimal corossion specks here & there. The bike starts instantly and idles, shifts, runs, stops and handles great. It has sat since the first week of March (and hardly ridden in 2010), so throttle response is somewhat sluggish from low to mid RPM's (2000-4000 rpm's). It is still fun to ride as is, but may need the carbs gone through, but does seem to get better with more riding. I did have the valves, timing chain and counter-balancer set and carbs sync'd last spring along with a new air filter and spark plugs, so tuned up. I also had the factory "endless" drive chain replaced with a Tsubaki chain and the front brake caliper rebuilt. The sprockets have hardly any noticeable wear. The tires still retain about 75% (+/-) tread and I don't see any checking/cracking on the sidewalls or between tread patterns. New battery. There is a area on the tank to the lower right that appears faded due to something that leaked or spilled from the tank. You can see it in a couple pictures. The tool kit is there, but don't have an owners manual. The turn signals need some sorting out. They don't flash as they should (front right & rear left come on together), so guessing the wires are not connected properly &/or possible bad flasher. The previous owner said the bike was vandalized in a parking lot with the thugs breaking the speedo, tach, headlight and mirrors. Those items were all replaced. The speedo (original owner says replacement speedo had 220 miles more than original speedo had) & tach were used units from eBay and it has a new headlight assembly with Halogen bulb and small European style "parking light" (also small bulb comes on when the bike is locked in the park position on the key). The master cylinder is new because when the right mirror was hit/broke, it broke the threads out of the original master cylinder. All other lights & electrics work as they should. This has the factory "Hondaline" engine guard. I also have the small black plastic inserts for the allen bolts that holds the handlebars on (forgot to put back after adjusting the bars). Bike is somewhat dirty as I just wiped it down. Pictures are accurate/current and were taken the same day as listed. Clear title and also factory California emissions approved plate on bike. Please feel free to ask any questions.
