1959 Chrysler Imperial Custom Coupe Only 1743 made for this year & the 1st year of the 413 V8 rated @ 350 H.P Partial restoration on a completely stock original untouched car Showing 45K miles & looks to be original but can not verify Has spent the last 15 years in AK where it was in heated storage and never driven in winters In 1959, the Imperial production was separated from Chrysler as the assembly line moved to Warren Avenue in Detroit and extra hand finishing was added to Imperial production. Most enduring change was the replacement of the hemi by the 413 cu. in. "wedge" engine (RB block,6.8L), which would continue until 1966 when it grew to 440 cu. in. Imperial horsepower was 350 in 1959, 340 from 1960-65. The new 413 Wedgehead had more horsepower and weighed 101 lbs. less, improving the power to weight ratio of previous years.With a wheelbase of 129", length of 226.3 inches, width of 81.0 inches, and height of 56.9 inches make this one big class ride like no other. A partial restoration was started recently where the motor and trans were pulled, and the engine bay and motor were detailed nicely. The car is extremely straight and rust free as you can see, with perfect glass all round, with just a few easy to fix rust through spots on the rear lower wheel wells. The undercarriage is super clean also, with NO signs or rust anywhere to be seen. I was told the car was previously from California which seems to explain it's clean condition. This car just needs a simple restoration of paint, interior, and freshening up of the chrome, which will then give you one of the most standout, beautiful cars you will ever come across.
