Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 Hello and welcome to my auction! This auction is for my 2000 Nissan Frontier XE V6 Crew Cab 4x4. It is currently located in Council Bluffs, IA. 51501 a few minutes outside of Omaha Nebraska. It has a Missouri Title and Plates in my name. I took 172 pictures of my truck. Please note that my camera has a speck of dust on the lens. All photos have a light grey blurry dot on them. It’s most visible on solid colors like the doors. So... that's not a dent; its just my camera. :-) CLICK HERE TO VIEW 172 PICTURES OF MY FRONTIER!! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I’m really sorry to see this truck go. We’ve put a lot of work into it and it’s been a spectacular truck. The owner before last used it to for an hour long highway commute every day. The last owner did almost the same for a while and then started using it on a ranch. It was used to idle around the ranch herding cattle, carrying a hay bale or two and transporting the lazy sheep dog. We purchased it a little over a year ago for my wife to commute to work. We lived in the middle of nowhere Missouri and the roads are very narrow with deep ravines down the sides. Going down narrow roads at 60mph for 45-50 miles every day was quite a commute for my wife. When rain or ice hit, it made for awkward conditions at best, so we wanted a stable truck that would handle well and had the 4x4 power to stay on the road or get back on the road if need be. Late last year, that time came when we had a HORRIBLE ice storm with dozens of trucks and cars smashed up in the ditches. Our local bar was even set up as an impromptu hospital for people being brought in from the back roads. My wife was one of the only people in the town to make it home due in most part to this truck. It stuck to the road well and when needed was able to climb through more than a few ditches and gullies. Needless to say, when most of our neighbor’s trucks were all smashed up; we were quite happy with the Frontier! Now, job circumstances have changed and we’ve moved from the steep hills of Missouri to the plains of Iowa. Talk about different! However, since then we’ve started working out of the house and truth be told, this truck just doesn’t get used anymore. It would just be an absolute shame to leave it sit because it’s in such nice condition and is quite a bit of fun, not to mention very versatile. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So now you know the story behind the truck. Here’s what we’ve done to it… Remember how I said it was used on a farm? Well when we bought it, it was in great shape mechanically. The owner regularly changed all the fluids and took care of all the maintenance. I’m not used to buying vehicles that don’t have anything wrong mechanically but it’s been great. However, because it was used on a farm, the bed was really beat up and the front bumper was pretty bad as well. It also had enough scratches to warrant new paint. So what we did was take it to our local body shop guy. I spent $4000 on the truck. I had an ENTIRE NEW BED put on, two new front fenders, a new front bumper and a new grille. It didn’t need the fenders or grille but there was a few dents and I figured, ‘hey… it’s already in the shop’. After that I had him put a brand new paint job on the entire thing. The truck was already painted silver so we painted it the same color. All the tight places match completely in color. The bottoms of the doors, under the front bumper and the rocker panels have been coated in Chip guard under the paint so they’re extra durable! I also enjoy customizing my vehicles a little bit so we continued on from there… --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I first added an alarm / remote start / door lock system with two key fobs. This thing will start your truck from a half a parking lot away while you’re inside a building! It has a safety built into it. If someone broke into your truck while it is remote started, the truck turns off and disables the vehicle until you come start it with the key. I then added Brand New MB Motoring Blitz 16” Rims with New Falken High Country A/T P255/70R16 Tires. The tires have around 15,000 miles on them and still have PLENTY of tread left. The chrome lug-nuts are starting to rust but I have a 2nd new set for you! I would have put them on, but I figured it would make sense to wait till after the winter for new shiny chrome! The spare tire is an actual aluminum painted stock rim; not the crappy steel wheel. Next we added clear front corner lights and clear LED custom tail lights. We get a ton of compliments on the tail lights. They look very impressive when they light up. They are also 100% legal on the road so you don’t have to worry about police. After that, I installed a bed rug, a Lund folding cover and a bed extender. The bed rug makes your bed feel like the trunk of a car so you can put delicate things back there. However, it also is very durable. I’ve hauled a couple loads of firewood and bricks in it and you honestly can’t tell it isn’t new. I’m really impressed with that product. The Lund folding cover is also very nice. Having a carpeted, water proof, leak-free bed makes for a lot of storage. However, if you need to take it off, you can fold it up and lock it down in seconds or completely take if off in a couple more seconds. My mother-in-law also thinks it looks shiny, black and expensive. ha! The bed extender has come in handy way too many times. We went with the crew cab truck because you can comfortably carry 5 people. But that shortens the bed a bit. Having that bed extender gives you a 6 foot bed when you need it and a compact bed when you don't ...and truthfully that’s more than I ever need. I always feel like I’m driving a transformer around. No matter what the situation, I’ve been able to fold up, lock down or fold out something to make my truck fit the situation! After working on the outside, we worked on the inside. Now I have BAD allergies and remember, I mentioned the previous owner had a dog…. Well I MAY have gone a bit overboard, but well… I went a bit overboard. We removed the entire interior from the truck. We’re talking seats, trim, carpet, roof liner, dashboard, console; EVERYTHING. We hand-washed and cleaned EVERY. SINGLE. PART before re-assembling it. Talk about work… but I think it’s worth it. You know that odd smell that all used cars seem to have? Not this one. I’m proud to say that this doesn’t smell like dirt or sweat or grease or food or smoke or animals or monkeys or anything. It’s clean. I can’t stand driving in a dirty vehicle!! We also installed brand new Nissan Frontier Floor mats. While I had the inside apart, I installed a custom stereo because I love music. I installed a Pioneer Premier DEH-760MP WMA/MP3 cd player in the dash. It’s actually one of 3 I’ve owned because I like them so much. It simple to use, has TONS of features, looks sharp, gets great reception, is reliable and sounds fantastic. I also fabricated a bracket to hold the remote to the steering wheel. In the photos, you’ll see that on the right side of the wheel, there’s the cruise control. On the left there’s an oval remote that looks like it fits there. That’s custom and nobody else has one. :-) Not stopping there, I then installed Pioneer Premier 6.5” 4-way speakers in the front doors, Pioneer Premier 1.5” tweeters in the top of the front doors and Pioneer Premier 5.25” 3-way speakers in the rear doors. I built custom spacers for the rear doors because nice speakers don’t fit back there. I needed to add another ¾ inch to fit premier speakers, so I had my father cut special wood spacers to fit behind the grills and I painted them flat grey. You can see them in the rear door photos. They look fantastic like they came from Nissan! Now, with component speakers, you lose some bass. So I decided to add some sub woofers to the system. However, there is NO room for subs in the truck. I had a custom sub box built for behind the rear seat. It houses TWO 300w 2-ohm Pioneer Premier IB-Flat 10” sub woofers. Next to it, I installed a JBL 600w amplifier. JBL is known for making fantastic amps and this one doesn’t disappoint. These subs sound just perfect. These are not ‘SHAKE THE CAR’ subs (although they can if you want). These subs are for quality. They have quite a bit of depth to them and they’ll move your hair if you want them to. But for me, I want proper, perfect quality bass and that’s what these give you. I also understand that everyone wants their bass at a different level, so after installing the amp I installed a custom volume level knob in the center console. You can see the pictures of it. Keep in mind this is not a GAIN knob like amps normally come with. This adjusts the level of signal going from the cd player to the amp. What this means is that the sub woofer never distorts. It plays perfect at whatever volume you want it to.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ALL THE MODIFICATIONS AND PARTS ON THIS TRUCK ARE LESS THAN A YEAR OLD! Everything done to the truck was new retail and has cost me over $6800 dollars alone for parts and work. These 2000 Frontiers often sell for right around $6000 with nothing special about them; some with quite a few more problems. However, I've added a new paint job, a brand new bed, electric fan, remote starter, corner lights, tail lights, rims, tires, bed rug, bed cover, cd player, speakers, sub woofers, custom box and amplifier. Those customizations cost me around $2,800 NOT including the paint or bed which were part of a $4000 bill. If I were to add the value of all those extra parts up including the paint job and cut them in half for being almost a year old, that would put the value of the truck at around $8200-8600. Starting this auction at $7000 puts this truck at a complete steal! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------After all those modifications, you’ll probably want to know how the truck performs. The 3.3L V6 engine is rated at 170hp. However, we installed an electric fan (which keeps the temperature at exactly 50% between hot and cold even on really hot days) and modified the stock air box to let in a bit more air, so it’s probably at around 175hp. This truck isn’t drop-dead fast but it’s pretty quick for a heavy truck. Where the engine excels is in low-end torque. I’ve pulled a couple of cars out of deep ditches with NO problems at all. I change the oil with full synthetic every 5000 miles and it has yet to leak any fluids. The transmission shifts flawlessly. It makes no noise. It doesn’t do anything wrong at all. I know that in the life of the truck the fluid has been changed at least 3 times; Once by each owner. Because of that and the highway miles, I feel this transmission has much less wear than typical. The transfer case also works perfect. 4wd low and high work great. It has a killer 4wd system! I love how well it does off the road when we go camping. It never ceases to amaze me how much of a difference it can make. The alignment is 100% straight. The A/C is ice cold. A hose on it blew this summer and we replaced and recharged the system. The 935 amp Duramax gold battery was installed less than a year ago. We did a complete tune-up on the truck last year. I just recently replaced the carrier bearing and U-joints in the drive train at a cost of $750. All the electronic components and switches work. It has the switch and wiring for fog lights, but I did not install new ones. It has a Class 3 trailer hitch, Functional roof rack, opening sun roof with cover and LEATHER steering wheel (in very nice condition). This truck also comes with a Haynes repair manual! YAY! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Here is what needs work on the truck. I don't feel it has any major problems but I want you to know everything: Mechanically: Part of the exhaust isn’t in the best condition. When we got it, we put a new muffler on it. However, the Y pipe is pretty rusty in areas and has two holes in it. I have installed heavy-duty patches over the holes, but I imagine it’ll eventually need work. The power steering will wine when it’s really cold or really wet out. After the truck warms up, it goes completely away forever. This is pretty common with Nissan trucks. The power steering works fine and I’ve changed the fluid. It does not leak. The check engine light comes on probably about half the time you drive the truck. DON’T GET SCARED! It has been like that for the entire time I’ve had the truck. I took it to the mechanic before we purchased it and he said there was a code related to the fuel level sending unit. I think it was going to be something like $600 to repair. I did some research and found out that this is a COMMON problem on the 1999-2003 frontiers and Xterras. Some people said that they replaced the part and the service engine light came on 10,000 miles later again. So I figured I’d just leave it alone. All the gauges work 100% fine and the truck runs perfect. But I figured I’d let you know. I just took the truck to AutoZone again to make sure and it was still the same code.Interior: As I said, there was a dog in the truck. You can see in the pictures that there are some claw marks on the top edges of the doors and on the glove box. I feel that the pictures do highlight the damage. In real life, I had actually forgotten that they even existed. On the driver’s seat, there is a hole at shoulder level. There is also another hole on the rear seat, driver’s side right in the crevice. It's hard to see. These two holes are small and will not get any bigger. The driver’s side seat also has a little wear on the side from people getting in and out. It’s pretty minor and most Frontiers I’ve looked at from this year have a giant hole worn in that area. All electronics and switches work. However the right front window is a bit slow. It does work though. Exterior: There are a couple areas on the grill and on the left mirror where some black paint has flaked off. Remember that ice storm I told you about? Well there was some ice that pulled that paint off when it came loose. It’s not that noticeable but you can see it in the pictures. Also, I lived on a long gravel road so there are some tiny rock chips on the bumper and along the front edge of the hood. They’re all very tiny and you can see my Pinky finger in the pictures for comparison. Lastly, you’ll see some marks on the rear tail gate. I just got those marks on there when we were moving. I had the truck loaded with moving boxes for 8 hours on the highway. Apparently the extra weight on the tail gate caused it to touch the rubber on the bumper and created those marks. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Other than that; feel free to ask me any questions. If you live close I have no problem letting you come see the truck. I’ll take other photos if you need them as well. I’ve taken as many pictures and described this vehicle the BEST I possibly think I can…. No seriously, my hands are tired from typing and my 3 camera batteries are dead.
