Vehicle Detail
1962 DODGE 880 CUSTOM Here is an amazing original car. This 1962 Dodge 880 Custom sports the original paint and came with Air Conditioning and Power Steering. Under the hood is the original 361 V8 and all the original paper work and manuals go with the car. It is NOT an original Police Car but I think it would make a fantastic looking one. I have some original Police equipment I would sell separately if you want. The body is is really super straight and extremely solid. I haven’t found a dent anywhere. The doors all shut tight and the windows roll up and down in like two turns. All the chrome trim is there and really nice. I just replaced the rear taillight lens with NOS plastics. The cost was over $300. The car has been in storage for over 15 years. I brought it home and installed a new fuel pump and had the carburetor rebuilt and the car fired up after a while of trying. The motor runs smooth but after a few minutes it starts puffing white smoke and it has a tapping rocker arm. Seems like the valve stem seals are dried out and need replacing. The car can drive up onto a trailer and the parking brake works. The service brakes have no current brake pressure. Most of the lights and horn works, and radio is silent. The floors and trunk pan are original and very solid. No rust holes found anywhere on the car. All the glass is really nice. Please call or write with your questions before bidding. The car is located in San Antonio Texas and feel free to phone at 210-548-1310. I’d be happy to talk with you about the car. PAYMENT AND STORAGE A $500 deposit is required from the winning bidder, due electronically via PayPal within 24 hours after the auction ends, to hold the vehicle. I do not accept Paypal for payments over $500. Deposits only. I will not be accepting trades. Respectfully, please bid responsibly by having any required financing in place before committing to purchase the vehicle as full payment is due within 7 days of auction end via cash or certified bank check (drawn on a major US bank). I can hold the vehicle for 15 days at no charge to the winning bidder after the auction (the charge is $15.00 per day after 15 days unless other arrangement made). I apologize in advance, but bidders with zero feedback will have their bids canceled, no matter what the amount, unless you contact me in advance of bidding. Bidders outside North America (anywhere other than the US, Canada, or Mexico “mainland”) are welcome to bid, but also must phone me before bidding.
