Vehicle Detail

Very nice vintage Honda. This bike only has 4945 original miles! Good condition. New tires. New battery. fresh tune-up. I cleaned the carbs, adjusted the float levels, new air filter, plugs.... Ready to ride. This bike starts on the first push of the starter button. It idles beautifully, blows no smoke or oil. It drives and handles great, shifts smoothly through all of the gears. These are fun little bikes. It has a six speed transmission. It red lines at 10 grand! There are no holes in the pipes and no apparent oil or fuel leaks. The pipes have a few scrapes, but are very nice for original 4 into 1 pipes. Very solid. I flushed out the tank and put fresh gas, new fuel lines and a filter. It has the usual scrapes and dings for an older bike (see photos), but overall it is a very presentable classic. The chrome is decent. Front bumper excellent, rims mostly very nice, with a couple of tiny rust spots, rear bumper has some minor pitting, chain guard very nice. Handle bars fine but not great - have some plier marks or fairing clamp scrapes in one spot. The inside of tank is not bad at all. The tank is very straight. One small paint chip repair with color match slightly off. Not noticeable from 5 feet away. Two TINY dents on left side near front bottom (1/16" deep at most) Only noticeable if you are looking hard. The tank is VERY nice, overall. The original decals are perfect. Both sidecovers are near perfect. Seat is like new. Master cylinder is very clean (see photo). This bike passed Vermont State inspection, and is stickered through June 0f 2012. Everything works, all lights etc... The original starter button was broken when I got the bike. It was a three way switch that turned off the lights, just while the starter is cranking. I couldn't find a stock switch, so I just ran wires out of the hole and put both a headlight switch, and starter button under the top triple tree. (Stock the lights were always on, now you can turn the headlight on or off as you choose.) I'm sure you could find a proper switch if you look around on line. Meanwhile this set-up works very well. The clutch cable is new. It's a slightly modified cable for a CB350. Not OEM but it works just fine. ( The original cable was gummed up).I have the original cable. It has been sitting in a can of motor oil since last spring - probably working again by now. I have a clear Title for the bike - It is a Maryland title issued in 1991! (Vermont doesn't title vintage, so I still have the title that I was given at purchase) This is a true survivor/barn find. Very low mileage! Runs and drives great. Beautiful bike! I can deliver for free in Northern or central Vermont. Regional delivery negotiable. DAS (Dependable Auto Shippers) has a hub in Albany (or Schenectidy). This can save a bundle over door to door. Call them and check on rates. I could deliver to Albany for a small fee. Good luck bidding. Email or call with questions - Jim 802-877-3968 Serious bidders would be welcome to come and see the bike in person. You can test drive it on our country lane, or I can take you for a road test. Let me know if you have questions - JimOn Oct-17-11 at 15:36:07 PDT, seller added the following information: A guy asked me about the reddish spots in the mismatched color patch on the tank. What you are seeing is glazing compound, NOT RUST! There were some shallow gouges out of the paint there, so I filled them with a bit of glazing compound. When I realized that my color wasn't really a perfect match, I decided to just leave it alone. I should have left it alone in hte first place as it wasn't too bad. I won't say I made it worse, but I didn't really make it any better! -Jim Also: I do have a seat strap for the bike, which will go with it. It's fine. Not as clean as the seat, but decent.
