Vehicle Detail
Hi, and thanks for taking a look at this fulfilling but challenging project - a 1947 Ford COE Truck. Those of you with an interest in COE's may remember that I listed my friend John's restored version a couple months ago. It was the dark blue one with the 3/4 race flathead Mercury V8. It went to a grateful buyer in New York State. During its restoration, John had the opportunity to purchase this one - just in case he needed some of its spare parts. Although that was not the case, this one is now the extra COE he doesn't need. It's a vehicle that rarely becomes available. It provides the opportunity to construct a unique and iconic street machine. It's popularity in that regard is unquestionable and all you have to do is check on eBay for the 47 Ford COE Hot Wheels-type models. There's at least a dozen listed on eBay and I'd guess they represent configurations of real-life vehicles. Most of them show the cab has been removed and placed on a compatible chassis. One I've seen in this area uses the underpinnings of the big Ford van. As you can see from the photos, some rust through is apparent, but with 95+% of the metal there's only surface rust and the cab would profit from a complete dip or media blast. Those square tubes seen in the last photo are the grill inserts. I recommend, prior to bidding, you take a close look at COE before bidding to determine its completeness - or have your rep evaluate it for you. It is stored in Orange, CA and advance arrangements to see it can be easily made. Because this COE rolls, but is both long and heavy, John will be available to facilitate loading. But actual loading and transportation are at the buyer's expense. John will offer storage for 30 days, but will charge ten dollars per day thereafter. Buyer agrees to contact seller and make a $500 PayPal deposit within 72 hours of sale and pay in full with acceptable funds within 7 days. As always, your questions are appreciated and encouraged. Be sure before you bid that this item is compatible with you interests and your pocketbook. After you are the successful bidder, we don't want to hear your wife won't let you restore it in the living room and just doesn't understand what a vehicle visionary you are. Thanks for your interest and Good Luck Bidding!!
