Vehicle Detail
Offered here is a 1963 dodge “440” 2 door hard top. This is an original California black plate car that has been off the road since 1978. That is the date of the last tag on the black license plate, too bad I only have found one of the black plates. But I do have the matching pink slip that goes with the back plate. the cab floors has rust from sitting with the windows open, the passenger side is the worse and will need to be patched or replaced, there is the factory rubber mat that makes things a little better, the trunk pan has a few tiny holes that can be seen now that the trunk has been Zolatoned and doesn’t look too bad, There are also a couple of small rust holes about the size of a quarter on the front cowl, besides that this car is rock solid. It also comes with a repo max wedge hood scoop that has yet to be installed, there was a bit of a miss-hap with the car rolling down the driveway and tagging the light post so it put a dent in the bumper, hood and grill, I do have a replacement outer grill shell that goes along with the deal. (see photos) i did pound out the hood and grill now it closes all the way and it looks worse in the photos then it really is. The rest of the interior is all there, the dash has been repainted black and has the speaker grill and radio delete plate, front and rear door panels are miss matched as are the seats and all will need to be recovered, the headliner is intact and not too bad shape. The last owner built and installed a new 440ci motor the engine # is 3698830.440-6, the 727 Torque Flight is clean and no grease so I think it has been gone through. The gas tank has been cleaned out and a few sending unit was installed, I hooked up an electric fuel pump, put all the rest of the parts on the motor and fired the motor up, it sounds really healthy and just needs the timing set. The car has disc brakes off of a 1973 cuda, the rotors need to be turned, I’ve got a new set of rebuilt calipers with pads still in the box, I’ve installed a new dual master and plumbed up and cleared all the brake lines. The car sits on a set of slotted aluminum mags and a decent set of tires. I got this car as a father and son project, when we first got it we spent a lot of time cleaning it, we repainted the motor and shot a rattle can primer job on it to cover the ugly old paint job. We have since lost interest and moved on to another projects. This car is very close to being a driver and it would be sad to see it go. This car is far from perfect but it is a great start to a nice Max Wedge clone project. Our loss could be your gain. *********UPDATED INFO 10/17/2011********** this weekend at the fall fling i bought a really nice hood and a grill shell to replace the damaged parts in photo. these will go along with the car.
