Vehicle Detail
Not running, but with clean carbs! Title in hand. In July 2007, the tank developed a bit of a leak. I procrastinated a few months, and thought as long as I was going to fix the tank, I might as well rebuild the carbs. Being: a. Florida, and b. July I decided my apartment was the best place to accomplish said repairs. My new puppy had a different thought. In the few days it took me to rebuild the carbs, JB Weld the filter assembly back on the tank, and put the bike back together, he decided that a coil pack, three plug wires, and a front brake line needed chewing. Prior to its hibernation, the bike ran great. No 3500rpm stumble. 38k miles. No smoke. I remember replacing the rear brake, and I'm pretty sure I did the front pads as well. Other issues: One shock was in need of a rebuild before, and I'm sure after sitting in mom's backyard for a few years, compressed by tie downs, the other one could use a rebuild as well. The first idiot to coat the tank, rolled it around on concrete, so it's pretty beat up. He also failed to remove the filter assembly, so you're running it in "reserve" the whole time. I've coated the tank as well. The fuel gauge is obviously shot. Clutch was beginning to slip when abused in higher gears. The trailer is pretty cool; it can take 2 smaller bikes, or one fat one. It's in good shape, but the tires are flat. Fix a flat will get you down the road, but I would plan on replacing the tires if you're heading across country. I'm not parting this out. If you want it, you get the whole thing.
