Looking to part with my 'project car' that has been sitting in my garage waiting for the day when I have both the time and the money to work on it. I have owned this car since 1994 and drove it regularly through 2007. In 2008, the car started showing signs of rusting frame rails...typical of this body style. It also was in need of a carburettor re-build/replace. Later that year, my family moved into a new home with a garage big enough to store the car, and it sat my garage until this summer. The car had a blown 6 cylinder engine when I bought it, and I replaced it with a 8 cylinder (305) that I purchased at a junk yard. The engine still runs good, it has new plugs, and is firing on all cylinders. The only engine problem that I'm aware of, is with the carburettor. In order to get it running well enough to drive, I had to play with the choke and idle settings for a long while. It's idling quite high right now. If I adjust the choke and idle down from where it's at, the car will flood out as soon as I give it gas. Even as it is, it will still knock you back in your seat when you hit the gas on the open road. Carburettor rebuild kits run about $30, and a new 'performance' carburettor will run around $300. I have also priced a replacement frame rail kit here: http://www3.sympatico.ca/conradlozier/. They run approx. $250 per side, plus the cost of paying someone to weld them on. Considering it's age, the car is in pretty good shape...only a few minor rust spots visible in the pics. With a little, time, money and TLC, it could make someone a great old muscle car.
