Vehicle Detail
Being listed on Ebay today is a 1970 Camaro SS 350. The car has the original L48 300 horsepower 350 engine along with the original TH-350 transmission. 76,427 Miles on the odometer, which I have repair receipts showing the car's mileage as actual by the mileage stated when repaired. Both the engine and transmission are numbers matching and have never been out of the car since being built at the factory in 1970. This 1970 Camaro was parked in 1989 as the replacement Holley carburator made the car hard to start and ran too poorly. I purchased this car in 2005 from the original family that bought the car new in 1970. The story I was told was the Dad purchased the car new and drove the car till 1978 when he gave the car to his son. The son had the car repainted in Cadillac Blue with the custom air brushings on the side along with a new set of wheels. The car was left at home when the son went to school and was driven by the family till 1989. This Camaro then sat in the driveway with a small tarp over it for 20+ years. I first saw the car in the driveway, noticed the 12 Bolt rear end and the small trunk spoiler. I knew the car was more than a base model Camaro. I then inquired about the car and purchased it in November of 2005. I got the car running by changing the Intake Manifold Gaskets, Timing Chain Set, Carburetor, and fresh gas. I then made the decision to make the car drivable and from 2008-2010 I rebuilt or replaced most the components in need of repair to make the car drivable but still needing a full restoration. Since the car had a tarp covering the car for so long, the carpet and most of the interior is in poor shape. I removed the carpet and found surface rust in the floors and rear trunk. I cleaned and POR-15 Painted the floor and trunk pan to stop the rust. The Floor Pan has small rust holes in places and the Rear Trunk Pan has major rust holes from the tarp that covered the rear window but not the rear trunk lid and the gasket let water in the trunk over time. The front window was cracked all the way across, so a new window was installed. I have searched for a Factory Build Sheet and have not found one, there was one under the drivers seat between the lower seat springs but only a small part is left. I feel this car is more than a "Parts Car" and my description Has included what I know from owning the car for 5 years. Any questions just email. I also have a link below that sends you to my Flicker Picture account which has over 100 more picture's of the underside of the car and every panel or issue the Camaro has and all casting number's on the Engine, Transmission, rearend to give an idea of its condition. The Camaro is also For Sale locally. This Camaro is drivable but needs a complete wiring harness and the carpet installed. The Camaro has a universal starter switch wired in so the car can be started and ran but does not have any other electrical functions due to the main dash harness being out of the car. Here are the Camaro's factory options, COS 3.07:1 not limited slip or posi.
